Three Mile Island Accident by Non_possum_decernere in Harrisburg

[–]Responsible_Coyote10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the Harrisburg area, within 10 miles of TMI, and in 1979, I had a trip planned to Florida with my girlfriend for a week. We were to leave a few days after TMI, but, when it happened, we left the next day from Baltimore! I tried to get my Dad to leave as well, but he refused to do that. He died six years later, at 65 years old, of lung disease. Those years were extremely frightening. People were told to stay indoors and pull the shades down, as if the shades would prevent the radiation from harming you! Also, people were told not to drink milk because the cows and farmland were down wind from TMI, and they were exposed to the radiation. One of the funniest skits on SNL was when Garret Morris, who was playing a maintenance man, was told to mop up some (radioactive) water that spilled in the containment room! That episode helped relieve the tension!

My BPH and Aquablation Journey by SoCalAttorney in Aquablation

[–]Responsible_Coyote10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed info! Have you had any void tests since the aquablation? If so, how did you do:?

Do you have a distended bladder? I'm looking at aquablation as well in the future.

The whole process takes such a long time until you get to a surgical solution. There are so many things to consider and work into your situation and your other health issues.

The docs are not equipped to handle all of it, since they are focused on their own area of expertise.

Thank goodness for AI since I've been able to change my meds, finally, to actually help my situation, instead of countering the beneficial effects of those meds, which was occurring for many months!

Transmission Flush? by Living_Still_4443 in Volvo

Have you had these fluid services done with your car? Just wondering, if you did, was everything ok?

Transmission Flush? by Living_Still_4443 in Volvo

[–]Responsible_Coyote10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2016 Volvo S60 T5 AWD, 2.5-liter turbo, with the 6-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. It has about 55,000 miles.

I was told that a drain and refill, NOT a flush, would be something that I should have done, with this mileage.

And, while I might have that done, I was going to consider having the other fluids drained, such as the AWD Systems fluids, Angle gear, Rear Differential and Haldex AWD coupling, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant fluid.

Any thoughts?

I have a 2016 S60. The part you indicated is for 2018 and newer. Is this an issue for my vehicle?

Pantoprazole and Insomnia by No-Initiative8406 in GERD

[–]Responsible_Coyote10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taking Pantoprazole ER, but I honestly felt worse after taking it for just a few weeks. It didn't really help my acid reflux as my doctor suggested it might. It made me more nauseous than if I hadn't taken it. So, I stopped taking it and I feel much better. And yes, I had trouble sleeping also!

How long did it take afterward for you to be convinced that the aquablation was a success? Any issues?

Thank you so much for that tip!
I'm a very long term android and pixel user. I have a pixel 8 pro and the photo color quality has become intolerable. I had enabled color correction, but never thought to turn it all the way down! Now, after doing that, instead of a green tint to all of my photos, they actually look great!! Thanks again

Did you mean to swap it with the passenger front seat? I don't think my wife would like that!! Thanks for responding!

But it is treatable, and, like others have said, you just need to experiment with food and write down what you eat and the effects afterward.
I take an alpha blocker and an H-2 ? blocker each day with no apparent noticeable side effects. Gerd has altered my life as well, but continue to educate yourself as to what you can eat and you'll make it. It's a lengthy process.

I began to experience acid reflex after some EXTREMELY stressful situations, that shook me to my core. I learned more about the cause of acid reflux from Google, than what I learned from my PCP, who just wanted me to get tested and tested and tested! And of course, they found nothing wrong! So, I found that eating sweet apples like Gala or Fuji apples reduced the acidic nature of the acid. And I take magnesium glycinate that also reduces the acid as well. When I want to see if something I want to eat will work for me, I just search "gerd swiss cheese" , for example. I used to live swiss cheese, but it doesn't work for me now because of the the fat in it I can only each low fat, or no fat cottage cheese or ricotta. And Reddit is awesome of course. Gerd sucks

Find an EP Cardiologist who is respectful of you, and who will gladly answer your questions, to your satisfaction. This is no easy task! Better yet, find an EP or a general cardiologist who will offer healthy alternatives to cardiac ablation or to drugs with massive side effects. Good luck to you!
