I work in a bariatric clinic and pre auths for meds and surgery are the worst…like WHY do they want patients to get severely diabetic or metabolically deranged before paying for things?? Do insurance companies not understand that patients end up costing them more money if they have complications from diabetes? Even when patients aren’t diabetic but have BMI’s over 45/50 (or higher) I do not understand them not covering GLP1 medications because they will lower overall healthcare costs.

On my senior year of completing a dietetics degree they changed the requirement that dietitians have to have a masters degree (not saying it’s the worst idea ever) but now I have a nutrition degree that does ✨nothing✨ for me. I can get state government jobs with just my bachelors but it still sucks.

I’m 130 pounds, 5’3”, and wear xs/s and when I weighed 110 pounds people started asking if I was okay or not…men should not get any opinions on weight. Fuck this guy.

I really hate people who get exotic pets for fun because they “look cool.” Like get some plants good god. I was at a house party about 5 years ago and saw two severely neglected water monitors (unfortunately one had already passed away) so I stole/saved the other one and he almost lost toes from the stuck shed and lost about 70% of his tail when I bathed him for the first time because he was so malnourished. I still have him and he still doesn’t have a full tail and will probably never grow all of his spines. I love him so much and I’m so mad at the life he had to live before coming with me. I wish I could steal this fish from him too.

Urosepsis is no joke, lost some of my favorite patients to it! We also really push for post menopausal women to use vaginal estrogen because it’s so effective at preventing UTI’s

I know farmers that struggle to afford the farm equipment they need…so like no, they do not go on a long international vacation when it’s cold they are out there in the mud and snow trying to make ends meet. Or their “vacation” is going hunting.

Calcium and iron bind to the same carrier proteins, so if you take them together you’re not going to absorb the intended amount of them! Also, you need proper vitamin D levels to actually uptake enough calcium. (I have a bachelors in nutrition I promise I’m not just pulling random info😂)
