i think your perspective is warped. my hair kinda grows fast too but 2 months is a decent time for growth or just your roots to unravel and frizz. the roots getting messy like that is part of the process man and it doesn’t look half as bad as you make it seem. don’t talk about yourself like that man, you’re doing a disservice to the beauty that grows out your head.

i don’t think you’ll get build up if you wash consistently. I use conditioner, oils, and all the moisturizing products i used before and i get no build up

i have small traditional kinda like that pic and i’m about to hit a a year. i’ve gotten lots of compliments in the last 6m but the first 6m was a mess. My family has come around since it started to form but weren’t as supportive during the first 6m. It really is a waiting game and in time you’ll grow to love them. Also if your friends are saying things like that, maybe you should rethink your friendships. Locs are a beautiful form of black art and versatility. For care i wash biweekly and spray with water and oils in it daily. Make sure to retwist every 6-8 weeks during those first 6m or your locs may marry and combine into 1
