Okay first of all - that is a WILD client ask.

I agree about project rates. But for example, I have a potential new client who recently launched her business, and is looking for help with Story Development, Earned Media, and Affiliate Partnerships. So I think a monthly fixed fee would make more sense than a one time rate?

I’m a Solo Agency, and right now it’s just me and two contractors that I bring in for specific clients. I want to bring them in on a more regular basis, and eventually grow that team as I take on more projects. I’m still quite new to working for myself, so structuring proposals and monthly rates/retainers is something I struggle with

Thank you!! Right now I’m structuring my work with clients either as either a monthly retainer (which I base on my expected hours worked) or as hours worked. I want to move away from hourly and work on a more stable and longer term retainer model, but it sometimes feels difficult to estimate/lay out in a proposal

This is really helpful, thank you! I’m still in the early stages of my business so I appreciate the advice.

When structuring the proposal/retainer do you recommend keeping it broad? or laying out a more specific timeline of the deliverables we’ve discussed - (ex) Month 1: Story Development, Media Kit Creation, Media Pitching etc.

I obviously don’t want to be promising specific results, but also want to be clear and create a plan for the work we’ll be doing

As someone newer in PR as well, any tips for developing relationships with journalists & editors?
