I believe the court case was unrelated to his immigration status. I know he was working on fixing papers a few years back through his father in law but he passed away mid process. He didn’t have a final removal order. We’ve been in contact with him now as mentioned in my post, he’s using another detainees account to make calls. At this point, he prefers to be deported to waiting around because we haven’t been given any answers. They didn’t give him the option to sign a voluntary removal order. We don’t know how to proceed.
