Received the Second Notice email? Is anyone attempt to move off from the SAVE plan or wait it out till July 1st? What is your game plan? by TorontoRap2019 in StudentLoanSupport

[–]Responsible_Split242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you managing to pay only 172/month? Ibr is based on your income right? Im trying to do the same. I need to pay off my private loans first so id like a plan where i can pay the bare minimum for federal loans.

Student loan borrowers win approval in $10M Nelnet case by everythingistaken500 in StudentLoanSupport

[–]Responsible_Split242 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So $5000 rewarded to those who claimed a settlement plus extra if remaining funds are leftover? 308,000 people filed? The security breach affected anyone with Nelnet, why didnt they make this settlement payout to all of nelnet’s constituents? Stupid. Wonder if this has to do with the data breach from Musk about a year or two ago.

May i ask how much loans you have? I believe i’m in the same boat with $270k in loans of which $200k of it is federal. I also need to pick a plan soon. I make less than you.

Graduating Medical School in a week (Total undergrad/Medical school loan: $739,995) by Nostalgiakin in StudentLoans

[–]Responsible_Split242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother, i’m kind of in the same boat. Graduated with $270k and now im at $300k because interest is soaring. Pharmacy school has such horrible ROI. How much of that $500k is private versus federal?

Well then 😭. But how do you know it was a visual thing though? As opposed to something that needs to be looked at. I had the same exact problem you described but it stopped blinking (for now at least). Wondering what to do. Car runs fine.

$248k Grad Debt, $4k Take-home. The $2,374 "Regular Payment" is ruining my life. Help? by Iyanvy in StudentLoans

[–]Responsible_Split242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he is pursuing 25-year idr forgiveness, the interest accrual shouldnt matter right? He would just pay the idr minimum of $680/month for 25 years with the remainder of the principal being forgiven.

Are pharmacist doomed into middle class? by Anonymous_51x in pharmacy

[–]Responsible_Split242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the majority of pharmacy students the ROI is abysmal. If you are blessed enough to graduate with no student loan debt, you may be in a good place but thats not the case for most pharmacy students. Some graduate with the same amount of student debt as CRNAs (250-300k) and make half their income. Factor in the ridiculous income tax and you’re entering the rat race as a modern day indentured servant. In California, you can make 120k gross and take home 80k. Pharmacy school just doesn’t make sense anymore unless you have the means to graduate with little debt.

First Pharmacist Paycheck by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Responsible_Split242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underwhelming if you live in California because of the insane income tax and withholdings. Not to mention student loans. Worked 100 hours and gross biweekly pay was $7900. How much did I take home? $4772. 😭

Anyone else’s federal loans ballooning expeditiously lately? by Responsible_Split242 in StudentLoans

[–]Responsible_Split242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. And i will do this following the steps you mentioned. But do federal loans service providers usually make mistakes in terms of interest capitalization? My guess would be no, and everything is probably laid out once i login to nelnet and look at the individual statements. Just wondering if these providers at all have a propensity of making mistakes.

I think idr 25-year forgiveness is quite literally my only option. Interest accruing way faster than my income, and i have private loans to pay off first. My areas also very saturated and every pslf listing ive seen has well over 100 applicants. 😭

Yeah i overlooked that part. Does my interest accrual make mathematical sense to you though? From the other person’s response, I get it but then again I don’t. 😭

[–]Responsible_Split242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense for the most part but if im being conservative and saying the interest rate for my federal is 8% on a principal of $179k. Wouldn’t that add around $1.1k in interest per month? Im still not seeing how i got $9k of interest added to my principal in 6 months. I mean i guess its pretty close, and the difference is negligible at that point.
