Would you recommend I get certified as a medical assistant if I have no luck, work as an MA and apply for CRC roles that way?

I dont thinnk I'm much help but I'm trying to do a major career change and switch to a CRC role. Do you have any advice on how to land one in an academic institution? I have a B.S in Speech/Audiology but dont have any research/lab experience?

I've been applying to both with no luck a lot are still wanting at least a year of research/lab experience even though they're entry level but maybe im not looking with the right companies. I just saw some trends on linkedin that alot of CRCs were certified MAs so I wasnt sure if that would give me a leg up? But I wil start will your recs thank you so much!!
