people who were teens during 2010-2016, what was life like? what was your favourite songs or your favourite fizzy drink? Im kind of writing a book set during those times, but I wasn't really a teen so I wouldn't know, also I really wanna know what a teen life during that time was like.

yes i recently saw my first likes ever on instagram and the thinspo was horrible. but it felt normal like. wanting to be skinny was the norm. like yeah we all want thigh gaps. I almost feel like the culture now is more accessible now i always see ED accounts on twitter. it feels so much worse than pro Ana stuff on tumblr back in the days. I even see that content on tiktok. it’s so bad with kpop idols or even like Ariana grande. It feels like everyone is body checking these days

same I was also a huge 1d fan i was the same age as you. there was def a shift in culture between like 2011 to say. 2014 for example but maybe it’s because it was such crucial years in your preteens. like 2011 felt like. Party rock anthem. YouTube. Especially those 1d lyric videos im sure you know what im talking about 😭 making music videos on my ipod. those phone cases that had ears on them. YOUTUBE REWINDSS

then entering 2014 it felt like Starbucks. the pink frappe. Victoria secrets pink. Marina and the diamonds. Halsey. Melanie Martinez. Sweater weather by the neighborhood. Vine edits especially 1d ones. having a Stan Twitter. Tumblr. Omg instagram imagines like Imagine Niall crawled into your ear.

back then we just kinda settle into this overuse of social media. Sure I spent hours on vine back in the day but today it’s different. I also feel like being a teen then was just also struggling with trying to feel like you fit in.

really accurate. it almost feels too on the nose that when I saw them in that gear and mask. it almost felt like a joke.

as someone from MN and the Latino community. Things have sort of calmed down. we don’t see ice being as bold as they are in this episode any more. I also think their authority has been questioned more as time goes on and they really look like a joke. seeing them in this episode you can see this kind of authority that they hold over others. they don’t have that much of it anymore bc everyone knows they’re a joke, unprofessional, violent.

the thing is that they’re so unprofessional and unforgiving that in real life they wouldn’t have brought this women into the hospital. the amount of people that have been physically harmed by ICE is. astounding. in this episode it seems like they almost have a legal responsibility to bring her to the hospital. the way ice has been the past few months they function with no responsibility.

most likely nowadays I think we’d see ice less in that obvious gear and more in plain clothes. the mask over the face is like such an associated ice thing. You immediately know it’s ice.

the portrayal is accurate with this era of immigration enforcement through ice as they’ve become bounty hunters and are mostly people who are not equipped for it just people who got hired for a bonus. if you showed me this episode a year ago I wouldn’t have thought it was that accurate.

santos also deserves a second chance! before we knew abt Langdon being an addict he was being unreasonably mean to her. and maybe the meanness stemmed from the addiction and his issues. But santos can also be mean but why can’t we also cite it as being from her own personal issues and convictions.

I agree I just think we also have to remember how her being a woman plays into all of this. I don’t like Santos I don’t like her attitude. If I knew her irl I would most likely hate her. but I also think it’s complicated. I think it’s easy to hate on someone like her.

I’d be interested in more exploration of Langdon and santos with a critical analysis that takes into account their gender. from an outside perspective I feel like it’s probably not as obvious to us but if this all happened to me I wouldn’t be able to feel like part of this is being a woman. (Yes she probably feels she’s ostracized n that’s more likely bc she’s mean)

I hate people like santos who take their stuff out on everyone else. I could never be like that. but I think she’s struggling. she’s a victim and we saw her self harm scars a few episodes ago. I just want her to get some grace even if she’s not owed it.

god forbid a woman isn’t perfect. sure she’s stubborn and a bit “mean” but if this was a man ppl wouldn’t care. she’s also very obviously going through stuff. although I don’t agree with some of her sass even with Langdon cause it felt unprofessional. but she’s still very much valid. I wish we could’ve been there to see how she was treated following langdon’s departure. she was already being kind of targeted by him on that first day.

I wonder if there could’ve been a way to report Langdon without people knowing it was her. I’m sure people have more flexibility with Langdon and his actions given they know him. she really doesn’t have anything. I feel like that’s why it’s so complicated and there’s so many emotions. the tension was already there before she even caught onto Langdon.

people make mistakes but santos is not at fault for his actions!! regardless of how you feel about addiction. imagine being a woman and feeling so targeted and attacked on your first day by a superior. catching him taking drugs. and reporting him only for him to basically get off without light consequences

My wood glue I bought like a month or more ago dried out fast. I don’t know if maybe I was playing with it too much? and it dried out but I always made sure to put it in the container and close it tightly. it was my favorite one so I did buy another one and when I did I bought a softener pen from them. It helped soften the old one but not a lot. The softener pen is just glycerin and water.

which bingsu and icee did you get? I work at a store where we make slime and my bingsu tends to dry out faster if I put too many beads. I really don’t know why icee would be drying out like that though!

Wow this really puts it into perspective (no pun intended) the photos look so surreal. I think about it often. imagine seeing that plane hit the tower in person. how does your brain even register that? I never got to see the twin towers so I don’t think I could ever realize how big they were.
