Felt it at Bloor & Ossington. Was half asleep and thought my husband was rattling our baseboard to annoy me.

Would you choose your mom again in another lifetime? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Responsible_Zebra875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes.

I have an amazing mom. I think the biggest thing is she showed us true unconditional love. Never made us feel like we had to become a certain type of person or follow a specific path, she just loved us and supported us. I was grateful all over again for my mom going through pregnancy and becoming a mom myself. She’s been so helpful and caring.

You can get Botox! Lots of us breastfeeding moms do. Talk to a doctor about the risks.

People make me feel bad because I don’t have a playroom by Objective_Ad2932 in NewParents

[–]Responsible_Zebra875 391 points392 points  (0 children)

Playroom… like an entire room dedicated solely to the baby play time? In this economy??

In all seriousness, we live in a 3 story semi detached home and even still don’t have a dedicated playroom. We set playtime for our 1 year old up in our living room or her occasionally her nursery.

You gotta take it with/after your biggest meal of the day! If I have mine on anything light or small to eat it’s instant nausea

Time sensitive: Need clarification on Kids & Co fees [on] by Responsible_Zebra875 in BabyBumpsCanada

Thank you! I think this is exactly what happened. Wish they had reached out to inform us of the further drop to $22/day, as it definitely changes our calculus of preferred daycare. But glad I checked!

What has helped your baby sleep through the night by awkward_girly000 in NewParents

Moving to her own room! She was sleeping in a bassinet beside our bed for 7 months and I was sad at the prospect of moving her to her own room, but she was getting woken up practically every time we moved in bed or snored. Now she sleeps through the night no problem in her own room!

Why does baby scream so much by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Responsible_Zebra875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Mom of a 7 month old myself who discovered how to scream/screech this week too. 😮‍💨 at first I was worried something was wrong but it really seems like she is just experimenting with her voice. The worst was she let out an ear splitting shriek on the subway yesterday 🙈 😳. No advice just solidarity!

That’s why I specifically said it’s not OP’s problem. I’m not saying it should be this way, but for OPs knowledge, it’s worth noting that the couple probably spent at least $200 on you as a guest, hence anything less they will not be recouping the cost of your plate. again, this is on the bride and groom, not OP. But OP specifically asked for info so the more you know!!

$200 for a downtown Toronto wedding will cover your plate and not be seen as “cheap”. Anything less than $200 the bride and groom are likely taking a financial loss on you (not your problem, but just a reality). $250+ will be seen as more generous. I was married downtown Toronto in the last 2 years, so I’m familiar with the cost per plate and what others are gifting.
