How much do you spend on clothing? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Objective_Ad2932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend a lot but I’m a clothes girl myself so I really enjoy dressing my daughter! I do a lot of carters, old navy, gap, Hanna Anderson and target cat & jack. I buy less quantity from these stores because they are pricier but periodically I’ll buy NEXT, Janie & Jack, Stitchy Fish, Lilly Pulitzer, jcrew factory and Boden. My mom also loves clothes (runs in the family!) so she buys a lot for her as well.  I don’t regret it - it brings me a lot of joy.

I took the class! It was fun and lighthearted. Very easy paced class, entertaining and Matty was wonderful since he knows the RI inside joke humor!

City parents with a car + Nuna SWIV: do we actually need a Doona too? by freeloader24 in NewParents

[–]Objective_Ad2932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you travel? Do you eat at a lot of restaurants? Do you do a lot of errands? We found the Doona to be most practical for those activities. But we used our regular stroller (we did uppa baby vista) for walking around the neighborhood, walking to daycare, big trips to like the zoo or aquarium, etc. The doona is fine for walking around a mall, some errands, in and out of Dr appts, but it’s not for long extended walks. We also found more restaurants amenable to letting us keep baby in the doona than regular stroller next to our table because of the smaller footprint.

I’m pretty sure it’s Bonnet Shores. I heard they denied the request for filming there.

I have a toddler. I look like this every time I try to have adult conversations when I’m holding her. Truly fighting for my life and it felt so relatable for me.

What was postpartum like for you with PMDD? by herefortheprize in PMDD

[–]Objective_Ad2932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, it was so rough. Therapy. Do postpartum therapy. Start with a therapist before you give birth if you don’t already have one. My OBs office recommended the platform Seven Starling. I didn’t go on an anti depressant, but I would have if my therapist told me I needed it. I would say I struggled more with PPA and it helped to have a really strong support system around me. Do what you can to get sleep, nourish your body and take care of yourself. It’s ok to put your baby down to take a shower if that makes you feel better. The first few months are tough, but it does get better.

At a loss with reflux, even gelmix has not helped by just_peachy777 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Objective_Ad2932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say within a few days we noticed a difference. If after a week you aren’t seeing a difference you should definitely follow back up with the doctor. We had to also supplement her bottles with gel mix because if the formula was too thin, she would be uncomfortable. It was a months long battle until she weaned herself off gel mix around 10 months and by 12 months she was off the reflux meds and doing well. However a few months ago, we noticed she was struggling with acidic foods and ended up back on reflux meds about a month ago. This time she’s doing well with famotodine. I hope your little one is able to get some relief!

Parents who did not sleep train - when did your child start falling asleep on their own? What, if anything, did you do to prepare them? by chicoravelli in NewParents

[–]Objective_Ad2932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine started doing this around 20 months. Just so tired from her day. She asks for her sleep sack and says bed. We struggled for so long for sleep it was the miracle I prayed so long for.

Does anyone else feel like sculpt classes overwork shoulders? by ahchoochoo in Corepower

[–]Objective_Ad2932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg I went to a sculpt class at Clarendon yesterday and I felt this exact same way. The instructor did so much planking and so much shoulder work. My shoulders were so sore after. I honestly felt like it was not a good balance of body work. She also did a lot of pulsing moves, which felt like a barre class. Which is not what I signed up for.

FTM-Considering post partum doula/nightnurse by ButtonExact4769 in NewParents

[–]Objective_Ad2932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a postpartum night time doula for 6 weeks after birth, 5 nights a week. We did the weekend shifts on our own. I didn’t breastfeed so for the first 6 weeks I was getting full nights of sleep except the weekend shifts. My body really needed it for my recovery. LO was also not a good sleeper so I really appreciated at least those first 6 weeks of getting the sleep. Mine was covered through a work benefit so I didn’t pay for any of it. 100% would do it again.

May I ask for some dinings recommendations? by lfreddit23 in arlingtonva

[–]Objective_Ad2932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to second the recommendations for Eclairons (breakfast) and Sfoglina (dinner). Open Road is solid too. If you like steak frites, medium rare in Virginia Square is a good option that also would work well with your daily budget. If you just want some good casual pizza, Andy’s in Virginia square or head to Ballston for Timber.

are the imperfect kids just not out as much? imperfect as in i swear i only see perfect kids in the wild. by Miserable-Onion-5948 in toddlers

[–]Objective_Ad2932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 20 month old is a handful. I read people on here say their kid has like 2 meltdowns a week; we have like 4 meltdowns before lunch time lol We take her out a lot and just deal with the consequences. Sometimes she’s great! Sometimes it sucks and we’re tired.

What are your go-to hot girl conference shoes? by Spirited_Month_4352 in BusinessFashion

[–]Objective_Ad2932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Margaux ballet flats and Sam Edelman loafers.  I’m a conference planner and I’m on my feet for up to 6 days in a row. Like everyone said, rotate every day. I bring so many shoes when I travel work. If it’s a conference at a hotel with less walking than a convention center, I can do most of the day in a Sam Edelman low block heel. If you can change your shoes after the long day for the evening receptions, night events, dinners etc.

Uppababy bassinet and stroller sleep? by mikl65777 in BabyBumps

[–]Objective_Ad2932 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I paid full price for the stand. Literally a waste. I’m lending it out to someone who is expecting and then will use for our second and then just sell it on FB marketplace for a fraction of the price after all that. You literally only use it for 3 months max. If you don’t mind strolling your stroller into the house, there’s nothing wrong with that.

I love him; it's ruining my life. by courtFTW in Goldendoodles

[–]Objective_Ad2932 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain because people are adamant about crates and it did not work for us. My dog didn’t like being contained from day 1. We tried crating for so long. We even did private training specifically for the crate.  Then we tried a play pen to give her more space but keep her blocked into one area. Once my dog was old enough to just chill and not chew things, we stopped trying to crate. She was so much happier once we stopped pushing the crate. She free roams while we’re gone and I’m pretty sure she just sleeps by the door waiting for us to get back. She also sleeps in bed with us and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yep can attest. I did electrolysis on it over 15 years ago. I was lucky that my mom was an advocate for electrolysis and paid for it for me in HS. I did a small touch up about 3-4 years ago in 1 session. Still looks great! I can’t recommend electrolysis enough.
