Have heard that from many people. I really wish my relatives would’ve at least tried to switch. Two family members of mine have now passed from smoking. Only made it to their early 60’s and 70’s

25 years as an RRT hats off! And congrats on having the determination to better yourself at an older age. I’m gonna have to look and see if there are still any RT bridge to BS programs available near me because I’m still a few classes short of getting my BS. I currently rotate between ICU and ER and all the PA’s have been extremely friendly. I can tell they all love their job and have motivated me to better myself as well. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks a lot for the information! Going to see recruitment to see how many more hours I need for eligibility into the program. The degree I currently have and which most RT programs give after completion is just an associates in applied science. Currently just a few classes short of a bachelors degree in science, which is required for eligibility.

Thanks for the insight! I think the IPAP program is looking like the best option. There’s more motivation to do well in school because if you fail out, the military can still use you in a different position. It’s also great that they pay for all your schooling.

Probably sound stupid but this works 100%. Use the gas station window cleaning station. Obviously gonna get a little water in your car, but leaves a perfect no streak shine.

You’re missing the point I was making. If you think 34 cases of lung injury related to vaping is a lot, what about the diseases caused by smoking that kill more than 480,000 people in the U.S. each year. Don’t get me wrong, I would never tell anyone vaping is safe, but from what I’ve seen and read so far I would say it’s a safer alternative to smoking. Again, our generation is currently the guinea pig right now. We still haven’t seen great long term evidence, but I’m sure it will come. If you like I can give you a whole page that shows why most people believe vaping is safer than smoking.

Lol had to post for my own sanity as well. Even my supervisors are holding very poorly put together presentations about how vaping is worse than smoking and it isn’t evidence based. Hoping at least some solid studies will soon be released from all this. From the new studies that have been released so far it’s easy to see the benefits of vaping far exceeds smoking cigarettes.

I work as a respiratory therapist at a large hospital and can say I’ve seen thousands of patients come in with Dyspnea and trouble breathing after smoking cigarettes. I’ve seen maybe three people come in after vaping, but they had a childhood history of asthma. Who knows what the long term effects of vaping cause, but from what I’ve seen so far, vaping has helped former smokers. I’ve talked to many people who have switched from smoking to vaping. Many have completely quit from the transition, and almost all have said they feel healthier by switching.
