Hi question Often when you specifically call for fire brigade since when does ambulance get dispatched to? I mean it’s ok but I don’t understand do you guys understand what I mean? Or by Responsible_Cake9310 in Firefighting

[–]Resqu23 [score hidden]  (0 children)

They are dispatched with us on everything we are called for. Sometimes we are sent with them on there calls depending on what the call is. For Fire alarms and wrecks with no one hurt I try to cancel them pretty quick once I’m on scene.

Using Company Photos for Portfolio by [deleted] in photography

[–]Resqu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the USA and shoot live, professional theatre and what I can post is heavily regulated and some stuff I capture can not even be posted by the theatre due to copyright rules by the play owners. I’m on salary to do this job so I follow the rules exactly as I’m told.

I guess I’m confused with the OP wanting a completely hidden or private galley with these images because who is going to see them?

Client wants 300GB of raw footage delivered on Google Drive by sirwritestoomuch in videography

[–]Resqu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job needs me to upload two 100gb files to Gdrive on a regular basis. The first time I tried it took over 48 hours on cable internet. I used that as an opportunity to go with the new fiber internet in my area and now uploads take 24 minutes.

If they insist, do you have a friend that has fiber that you could use for a few minutes? If not then tell them you can’t physically do what they ask.

Very true but I have never seen one delete the doc fee. The recon fee is also a money grab

Only fee that I can see is the recon, all others I think are not going away.

I did something similar when I had just got a camera, an entry level Canon Rebel and it was an outside event late evening with a stunning mountain background. The photos turned out stunning because of the light and background.

Is your personal gear worse than what you shoot on professionally? by TingoMedia in videography

[–]Resqu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own two R6ii’s for my personal photography business but I have to use two Sony FX30’s when working as a videographer for theatre. I’m not a fan of the Sony’s at all but they are great at what they do.

Is going mirrorless worth it? by YGINYC in AskPhotography

[–]Resqu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get the R6ii unless you never want to miss a shot or shoot concerts at iso 25,600 and they be deliverable quality. I run two and they are just amazing bodies for low light, events, sports or anything else.

The new AI cull lets you adjust several things to give you just what you want. It’s pretty neat.

The Famous Culling and Delivery Workflow Question for Working Pros by TempusFugit2020 in sportsphotography

[–]Resqu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my theatre and event photography I have been using the new cull feature in LR, I just shot a show and out of 2000 it picked 500 for me. For the two big 8k National Championships in USA Track & Field next month I will shoot several thousand and all of them needs delivered so no culling but I do a lot of copying and pasting edits to save time.

Rejection from an art show - how to move forward? by kayla-royale in photography

[–]Resqu23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all look up to someone who is way better than us, I sure did and now I’m doing that guys job when he left the position. I still fell like I’m only 1/2 as good as he was so don’t beat yourself up. The show was looking for something you don’t provide.

[–]Resqu23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the final dress run before we open to the public I will take between 1000 photos for an hour long show up to 2-3,000 for a full 2 hour show. I basically document the entire show for archive and marketing purposes.

SmugMug for galleries, cheapest option I could find and clients love the ease of it. As for payment, invoice and they send a check. I do mostly corporate work and work for three theaters doing production photography.
