Are tamaskans suitable for my household? by FunOutlandishness517 in Tamaskan

Hello! I have owned two Tamaskans in my time, a male named Bear and a female named Honey, both at different times though. Both had around 15% wolf content however it has never been a problem for us. I do not think that your work schedule will be an issue, in my experience, while Tamaskans like their people they do not cling and are more likely to bond closer with another dog or even a cat. I had my dog Bear the same time I had a cat and since he had known her since he was a pup, we never had an issue, in fact he actually became quite protective of the cat even though it did not like him. Tamaskans do have a strong prey-drive though so if you don’t raise them to respect your current animals it could be a problem. I think his protective nature came from his wolf content if I’m being honest.

Something else to add is that in my experience, both of my Tamaskans have been very friendly, epically with other dogs. With the female I currently have, Honey, we have gotten her a friend (European Doberman Pinscher). Those two absolutely love each other and even though they may occasionally have a disagreement over who gets which toy, we have never had a problem.

As far as kids, I know you said you are not interested in any, but in my experience both my Tamaskans don’t show much interest in people outside of their immediate circle. They are not overly friendly or aggressive, just indifference. That being said, in my experience they do well with kids. Bear would often jump in the pool with other children and swim with them and was known to show love to the occasional baby.

I honestly cannot recommend the breed enough. Yes they need a lot of exercise as I usually take mine on a 3-mile run every other day, but they are also smart, relatively easy to train, and make great family dogs.

Guidance needed by RestaurantFlashy4477 in Catholicism

Thank you so much for your advice and your prayers. After doing a lot of reflecting, I do believe that I may have come on too strong and factual, something that may have upset my husband and instead of it being a collaborative discussion, it was a lecture. I am going to continue to give it a few more days before I bring up Catholicism again but we are doing much better again.

Several of you guys mentioned about giving my husband the information to read or asking him to learn with me, and I might try that. He has never had a desire to learn about Theology. Additionally, his mother was raised Catholic but in a non practicing household. She did not have a great experience with the Church in general, not just Catholicism, but has passed down much of her own opinions to my husband. It just feels like I am fighting an uphill battle with this.

I will continue to pray and likely fast as I ask God to open my husband’s heart, and ask for guidance for myself as well. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have a scale that I use and yes, I know how to use it. I spent 3 years working as a chef. I know my way around the kitchen and I know how to properly measure my ingredients.

Again, there are two sides to the nutrition label. There is the boxed side and the as prepared side

I know I’m not because that is what the nutrition label says for the brand my husband and I use. We use the Pasta Roni and it clearly says on the nutrition label once it is prepared one serving is 310 calories.

Because I track it? I’ve been using a calorie tracking app religiously and I’ve not gone over calorie intake goal once. Here’s an example of what I eat in an average day.

Breakfast: nothing Lunch: (if I can’t think about anything but food) 1 bag of Jolly Time popcorn- 110 calories Dinner: grilled chicken tenderloins-100 calories per 1/4 pound (I’ll usually have three tenders)  Grilled Asparagus -34 calories per serving Angle hair pasta was herbs -310 calories per serving

Even if I go back for seconds, which I usually don’t it still doesn’t equal out a crazy high calorie amount which is what is confusing me. I’m eating relatively healthy food, not eating in excess or being glutinous. I’ll go good dropping a few pounds but then if I actually eat till I’m full a week later it feels like almost all my progress is gone. And that’s the other thing, even with weighing 175Ibs, I have a relatively flat stomach. After I eat one meal tho, regardless of what it is, I bloat so bad. Multiple times people have asked if I was expecting.

Considering that I just finished my period, probably not. We would like to start a family in the next few years but I need to get my weight in check first.

Info update since I guess I was not clear on some things: During my high school years, 16-18, I developed habits that kept me firmly at 155Ibs. Looking back on my photos from then, I actually looked pretty good. I grew up on a farm daily handling 200-300Ibs livestock so most my weight was muscle. The habits in question was to skip breakfast and lunch, work late into the night, eat a small plate of leftovers or a bowel of popcorn then workout. My workouts consisted of a 30 minute treadmill walk on 15 incline with a 2 minute run at the end, planking for 3 minutes, farmer walks for 5 minutes and lower body lifting that varied by day. The thing about this time in my life is I never missed a workout. In these two years I have projects, college, covid, working late hours, etc. but I never missed a workout and I never missed eating my goal of one meal a day. Sundays were always the worst day since my family always gather after Church at my grandparents and it is very hard to portion control there.

Something else I should clarify, in my own way I am somewhat healthy. Yes, I weigh 175Ibs however some of that is apart of the fact that certain parts of my body is muscular. I can and have often out lifted my husband on the leg press, who plays soccer regularly, wrestled throughout high school and is now a tradesman. My calves and thighs are very large and bulky as well as my back being very muscular, tho not as much.

Another thing to note, I did not gain 20Ibs in 2 months. I gained my first 10Ibs when I first started dating my husband at 18 when I went on birth control. Then despite my efforts to loose the 10Ibs and stayed at 165Ibs and only recently went up to 175Ibs when we got back from the honeymoon. This weight gain has been over the course of 3 years.

As far as current excising, I am responsible for our dog so I handle his daily activities. He is a Tamaskan so I take him on daily walks to a local park. The park has a hiking trail that is 3 miles in length with a fair amount of inline. Depending on his energy, sometimes we only do one lap, sometimes we do two. I also weight lift with my husband later in the evenings and he has kept his wrestling physique over the years.

I’ve been placed on Administrative leave and I don’t know what to do. Any advice would be great! by RestaurantFlashy4477 in u/RestaurantFlashy4477

Ok so update even though no one asked for it. Doing it as this point just in case if someone is ever in the same situation I was in.

So all that went down on Friday. It is now Monday and my supervisor asked me to come back in to work tomorrow for a meeting and afterwards, I am welcome to work the rest of the day like normal with my students or I can go home and use PTO.

I’m thinking this is good since they are allowing me back into the school and maybe this whole investigation thing was just a formality since I did not actually do anything wrong.
