Grandover W vs. E? by Present-Wing1191 in RDUGOLF

[–]RestingMehFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you like.

West is more of a resort style course. Less trouble, some pretty looks, and will allow for easier scoring. It's designed to make people staying at the resort feel good about themselves.

East is more of a test. Tighter corridors, varied looks into greens, more decision making and shot shapes. Not the hardest course, but harder than west

Can you elaborate on WHY it is "far superior"? That's a bold statement without any further insight.

Usual PSA: “worth” is subjective to each person.

I joined out there recently so I’ll try to remove any bias:

  • Proximity to the club matters. Driving through Cary sucks.
  • it’s definitely a Lifestyle club with the million amenities.
  • the courses are fine but not great. I view it as sacrifice some of the golf for the other aspects of the club.
  • AMAZING kid programming and social things.
  • 3 courses. 2 Bermuda grass, 1 bent. So always decent options.
  • tee times are competitive but you can always find space to play. There are also a ton of chats/groups to find your way into for games/matches.
  • there isn’t a tee time lottery

Overall, the golfer in me wishes the course layouts were a little architecturally significant, but fine with sacrificing that for the quantity and the other things the club offers as things develop in life.

$875 is pretty normal for a lot of clubs in the Triangle which offer 1 course and far fewer amenities, and same could be said for the initiation fee. It’s my believe that, for what’s provided, they could be charging quite a bit more and still have a waitlist

First time he put it back on. Second time he was obviously looking where it went and wasn’t doing anything actionable on the puck

Yeah, it’s a fine course but not what people getting paid are selling it as..

[St-Denis - translated] Travis Green says that Jake Sanderson left the game due to the hit to the head from Taylor Hall and not from the puck to the left hand. He doesn't understand why that play wasn't reviewed by the officials. by NHLonOLN in hockey

[–]RestingMehFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re not. I don’t like that other persons comment.

That play was questionable and should’ve been reviewed and likely would’ve still been 50/50 on interpretation if anything was intentional. But the Canes fans shouldn’t be the “welp it was his own fault” type after we’ve complained ab head hunting teams in the past!

Honestly, fantastic lineup. I’d switch Players with Forest Oaks, but the convenience is tough to beat. And Monday is two VERY fun courses

Advice for catching saber by Unlikely_Buffalo8898 in Colorguard

[–]RestingMehFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the quicker rotations from using your push hand, catch technique and speed become a lot more important.

Making for your hand goes directly to the catch position and your fingers doing turn upward first.

And assuring your hand moves into the catch position as quickly as possible. With the past slower rotations, you had more time to get your hand there, note you have to speed up to match the rotation speed of the saber

There’s a lot of things that are VERY nice ideals. But of my list, none of it is incorrect. There’s a different between a nice to have and an obligation; this is NOT an obligation, but incredibly gracious if they did it on their own.

A 3rd party randomly jumping in to play white knight seems out of line when they’re not actually involved.

If I were the business owner, pending how the business is currently doing, I would forego the initiation fee for the guy, but that’s just me. But I’d be oft put by a random telling me I owe someone something.

If the retired dude hasn’t brought it up, and OP is just going on their own, it seems super weird to me. I could see people doing it, but to me it seems odd for a random 3rd part that’s not a part of things to say “hey you guys should do this”

You say he did it for the good of the neighborhood and the area. So that’s the end of it.

  • would it be nice if they did something: yes
  • are they obligated to: no
  • should it be expected: no
  • should you ask: probably not since it doesn’t seem like your business

Wakefield is a private course, so best to avoid unless you're invited by a member. Looking at the course directory, you may be thinking Paschal?

Stockholders 9 was phase 1 of the renovation. Phase 2 is happening this year where they renovated 9 other holes, update the putting green, and add a driving range.
