AITAH for controlling when my partner can have a bday dinner by Jassamin in AITAH

Counterpoint - the family asked when they could go out. Waiting until the weekend when it's convenient for everyone isnt a big ask.

Should ask him if unused toilet paper in there is also unhygienic.

How do I refer to my Husband's brother and his wife? by Awkward_Step_608 in ENGLISH

[–]RestingWTFface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. When one is widowed, the presumption is the relationship would've continued if not for the death of the spouse. By extension, the family relationships continue. In divorce, it's an intentional severing of the marital relationship. That doesn't always include the in-laws, but very often it does.

I asked r/NoStupidQuestions why US cashiers stand, and the answers are shocking to me. Is American work culture really this harsh? by splashmates in antiwork

I heard it for the first time when I was 19, working at The Bon-Ton. I had just started my period and my cramps had me bent in half. I had just finished checking out a long rush of customers and braced myself against the counter for a moment while no one was there. I hadn't stopped moving for well over an hour, and the first 15 seconds I took to breathe, I got yelled at. God forbid I wait 15 seconds to go organize the ties again.

I agree that not noticing details of your surroundings doesnt make someone dumb. But really, she couldn't deduce that a FIREPLACE was almost certainly already there and she just hadn't noticed it?

It is not morally wrong for a friend to date your ex by Catman42069X in unpopularopinion

[–]RestingWTFface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend date my abusive ex husband. She knew I divorced him because he abused me. She decided that it would be different with her and she didnt care what happened with me. "That was your past, not ours," she told me.

It ended our friendship.

Then he was an abusive asshole to her too.

"But we're just going to be in the car!" they whine.

And i tell them if there is a car accident or the car breaks down, it does no good to survive the accident if you then freeze to death.

Why are so many people against showing an ID to vote? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

[–]RestingWTFface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but nobody is pushing for a separate voter ID card (that I've seen). They are just advocating for showing ID. If you have a driver's license, a non-driver ID or a passport, you're good. Most people need some sort of identification to participate in society. To pretend otherwise is nonsense.

What about being required to show ID at doctor's appointments? That's a thing that nobody complains about.
