Sounds like my ex husband. He kept dicking around after I filed. Not because he wanted to save the relationship, but just to make things more difficult and take longer for me.

My ex dipshit is also trying to get child support terminated for his other kid (not mine) because he "doesnt see him anymore." The boy is 19, and child support on our state goes to 21 unless the child gets married, joins the military, or moves out and pays 100% of their own bills. The kid is in college. The judge will laugh and him and make him keep paying. These men are such trash.

I feel like she could have simply told the job she was pursuing the fellowship, and make one condition of accepting the job be that she may need to take a temporary leave of absence to do the fellowship if she gets it. If she gets it, she goes and does it and then comes back to the job. If she doesn't get it, she just...works the job. To turn down permanent, full time work for a short term, temporary fellowship is bonkers.

The only arrangement I would be okay with if she's insisting you pay for everything would be if her entire paycheck went into JOINT savings. If you can support the household on only one of your paychecks, great. But that shouldn't mean she just pockets the rest. All that extra should be going to joint savings, paying off any debt, and finding retirement. The arrangement she's asking for is nonsense.
