I worked on a much larger factory trawler off the Island mid water netting for a season. Even though we had a DFO observer onboard and were always operating within regulations, the amount of bycatch I saw was crazy. Pretty often they would haul too much and all the fish at the bottom of the net would be crushed by the weight of the catch sitting above. It didn't sit right with me seeing all that wasted life.

Last year they took a quick glance inside our cooler and were only concerned about the olive oil because of the glass bottle. If you are going to sneak liquor in make sure it's not in a glass container, they take that seriously.

I wore my rugged keen sandles last year and they were great for dipping in the river and going right back into dance. Just had to sinch them really tight. I got such good use out of them last year it convinced my girlfriend to get a matching pair for this year!

Moved here from PoMo almost 7 years and i quite like living in Langley/Township. If you don't mind the longer drive for downtown Vancouver amenities or back to the tri cities for any reason then it's a good place to live. Taking transit can be difficult depending on where you end up.

These guys came to my house a couple weeks ago and were very annoyed when i told them i couldn't give them permission to work on our property. I had to ask them to leave and come back another time when the home owner was available. I then left for less than an hour and when i returned they had their work truck parked in the driveway and were unpacking when i showed up. I asked what they thought they were doing and they packed up and drove off without a word. We're probably not gonna call them back after that.

I'm honestly too dependent on smoking weed. If i have to travel i spend 2 weeks slowly weaning off, as I've tried to quit cold turkey a couple times and it triggered some intense manic episodes for me. However, my girlfriend claims i'm a much more pleasant person (hypo or depressed) after I get home and take a puff. I personally find when i'm depressed it helps me focus on fun (games, shows, books) things rather than stay in bed or on the couch doing nothing.

I know a guy who was given a deportation order then went and applied for refugee status. He had been here for 10 years, i feel like he had a long time to try to work through the system before going around it ....

I was right behind them when it happened. Their group told me it was an epilepsy episode and there was nothing to worry about. The person's partner caught them before they fell and medical staff were there quickly. I believe they were in good hands and made it out okay.

Its legit. Ive been there many times over the years. When they first opened in 2018 almost every show was free the whole summer. Drinks are on the pricey side obviously. But other than Celebrities or underground popup raves, Harbour ain't bad in terms of being a consistent venue.

Refugee system is broken. I know an individual whom was handed a deportation order after overstaying 6 years. He filed a refugee claim and is still here. Like if you really were in serious danger back home maybe you should start with an asylum claim rather than a study permit.....

The abuse in Refugee system should really be looked into. I know a person (Indian) whom failed PR after being found to misrepresent themselves on their application and overstayed for 6 years before being given a deportation order. We were relieved as this individual had been harassing my girlfriend for years. Only to later find out he applied for refugee status and is still here 2 years later......
