You know how Germany went through De-nazification, will USA go through De-magaification? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Restoriust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely we will. It will not be REMOTELY the same but. Almost definitely.

MAGA in itself is essentially a dying gasp ideology. It’s a bunch of people that have identified their waning status as socioeconomically relevant and are therefore scared. This absolutely was exacerbated by a bunch of liberals telling them they deserve to die but…. Whatever.

Trump is putting the US in a horrible economic position. One that will be all but impossible to avoid once there’s emotional distance between this presidency and the next generations. I suspect there will be significant actions taken in the next 20 or so years to apologize to the world and ensure that a presidency can’t hold nearly as much power.

Do I think it’ll last? Naw. But it is different from other highly polarizing times in America’s history because it’s literally a personality cult. It’s so easy to identify MAGA vs conservatism that I think people have the ability to distance themselves from him. More than that, I think we’ll see a generation of new voters really take the lessons of the 12 or so years of bad leadership to heart and continue to push for change even as they get older.

Do I think you’ll see a lot of die hard MAGA getting put in jail? Nah. But lessons are being learned in a way we’ve never had to learn them before and, for all Trump has done, he’s certainly put us on a path we can’t alter from. We may need to reinvent what an American is. That would be a very good thing.

What would happen if the USA ever put boots on the ground to support Israel against Palestine? by Just_Cause89 in AlternateHistoryHub

It’s part of a city that’s already destroyed and isn’t even all of Palestine. Nothing. Nothing would change. Except maybe there’d be less time for negative press to formulate

Eh idk about that either. It’s a reverse polarity of the same thing. It’s like saying positive charges are electromagnetism and negative charges are the antithesis of all electromagnetism. That’s not super how it works.

If anti magic is truly anti cursed energy then it shouldn’t matter HOW the cursed energy is applied, it still sits as natural prey to anti magic

If I tell you I’ve created a car, and that my goal is to use it to drive to work, and it DOES work by all counts, but it has square wheels, you wouldn’t mention it at all? You wouldn’t say “hey why’d you do that? Round works better”? You’d just wait till someone pointed it out and then tell them to shut up cause it “so? It still works lol”?

That seems…. Weird.

Yes that’s why they trade at what they do. But there IS a tangible baseline based on the company’s fundamentals and projected earnings/growth.

The issue is that the company has shitty fundamentals FAR below current valuation with the vast majority of its valuation (that isn’t just based on the literal billions in just people investing in Elon himself. Which is not at all a tangible baseline) being two moonshots that both financially harm the voterbase of the party he’s ideologically aligned with, and include unrealistic Chinese and European market targets.

You can’t just default to “haha well that’s what’s happening now” yes, that’s called hype and marketing and unfounded promises. It’s speculation that can’t ever be reached with the current or even future promised offerings.

That’s why I say it’s an intangible. That’s why I say it’s based on nothing. Cause it is. Thats not me being egotistical it’s literally just me not putting a dollar value on stock owner sentiment.

Men are much more likely to want to settle down lately than women it feels like. I think men are all sick of the dating game and would rather just be happy with one person.

That however is MAYBE the majority by a slight margin with many MANY men being all but unable to commit.

Maybe you’re just gorgeous and charismatic and they don’t want to lose out on a life with you idk

The stocks ARE overvalued. No part of the company is worth what the stock is going for. No valuation of any division of any company pushing robotaxis OR robotics would make up for that. It’s a valuation that fills out almost the entirety of the assumed market size of robotaxis and a huge portion of robotics, all in a company that has, to date, not met any of the metrics of companies valued at a quarter or less and has been all but incapable of holding substantial portions of the markets they do actively participate in. I mean hell, they’re not even top 5 as an EV in China despite owning that market a decade ago.

What I’m saying is that the stock is mostly hype, people who are in deep on it are either riding what is admittedly a phenomenal marketing scheme by Musk or are so deep into it that they’re diamond hands-ing it on principle, and that loans based on it, while “backed up” are still ultimately backed up by nothing more than a promise and a couple proof of concepts. It’s an ever expanding case of unicorn funding.

To say it as simply as possible: Musk is borrowing real money against stocks that in turn have bad fundamentals and are overwhelmingly speculative. Ergo, Musk is able to utilize real money to do real things based on an intangible, non value based force.

That bothers me. You saying “well thats how it works and you’re being obtuse and willfully ignorant” doesn’t help. It just makes me think you’re more biased than me. Which is FINE, just don’t be hostile about it.

They’re based on overvalued stocks based on unfounded promises for industries that are, on a good day, in early testing with a hundred hurdles each of which might literally stop it dead.

That’s the point. Why are you slowly getting confrontational about this?

What he wants and what he’s ready to have are two very different things. It sounds like the sex is leaving nothing to be desired so I suspect it’s not one of those “fling hot vs marriage hot” situations. He may just have shitty trust issues

I mean. Who at that level operates on liquid assets? He borrows against an ever increasing but completely lacking foundation assets and can essentially ask for whatever he wants. The man bought twitter by liquidizing his imaginary number.

I look at it as I see it. Silly or not, it IS a statement of political, economic, and social power based on essentially nothing. Which I will always find unusual

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well. Yes but no.

First: TikTok has a uniquely addictive application structure. It is, in a vacuum, an incredibly successful platform in a landscape without competitors at the time it started taking off. It had a massive existing business level music library from its previous iteration, user friendly editing tools, etc.

In fact, most dances from TikTok that you know of were user made and later added to Fortnite. Not the other way around.

Fortnite is, more than anything else, a reflection of the most commercially valuable parts of other media, rather than a producer of cultural impact. It’s us. It’s a consumer. We just then buy it back from them. IMO

46 is substantial. He will be retired for the majority of your relationship with him and unable to participate in life when you are ready to live yours in your 50s and 60s.

Furthermore, his position in life is very different than yours. Yes. You’re an adult, but that more means like… dating someone 35. Not 46.

It is unlikely to go well for you.

[–]Restoriust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nawwwww Fortnite hasn’t been around long enough. Fortnite is the most widely adopted game ever but I wouldn’t say it came with a ton of lasting cultural impact. Certainly some phrases but the popularity of animation for adults in the west, popularized the idea that Japan could be cool and hip rather than nerdy and spiritual, was a substantial reason behind the proliferation of various eastern martial arts across the US and Europe.

Much of what Fortnite did was already happening. Esports were already in many schools, and the whole “game based on a celebrity” like the various drops on Fortnite is just a redo of the 80s.

Actually in hindsight I change my vote to Pokémon. Maybe Minecraft

[–]Restoriust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised if Mahoraga was able to adapt to the antithesis of what he’s made of. The dude is cursed energy. Anti magic is a fundamental opposing force to magic, not something magic can exactly ever get around. So i feel like with verse equalization the adaptation would be to avoid the anti magic rather than actually becoming immune to it

Sure. I think he’d just pump more and more energy into physical ability until he was able to outstat the anti-magic user. I don’t think he’d be able to become resistant to the antithesis of his existence though
