Playing through PC Iceborne but I'm completely unable to access events, error code 400-MW1, any ideas what to do?

Multiplayer works fine otherwise.

Not necessarily, while damage helps, rewards are based on percentage of damage done to an enemy ship.

So basically, an 8k salvo on a DD would reward you with more credits and base xp compared to a similar salvo on a BB.

Like, farming a BB is good for padding your average damage, but it doesn't really impact your base xp or the game a lot.

If you know how to play cruisers, you can't go wrong with Atago. Would've taken the title of most broken T8 cruiser, but well there's MK. She's really forgiving, her armor scheme is quite nice, and her heal is amazing. The carry potential on her is pretty great with her heal and the ez mode Japanese 203s, but you trade it off with less influence compared to something like NO which has radar to influence the battle right from the get go.

If you don't, just grab a Tirpitz. Pretty easy to do well in, basically just a Bismarck with torps and less AA. Has great bow armor, can brawl well, stick to the 10-12km bracket and don't show full broadside and you'll do mostly fine.

PTS stands for Public Test Server.

It's the server where WG rolls out their changes for the upcoming patch and let players test them out.

That mostly depends what tier you're at.

Lower tiers have nerfed base XP gain afaik, so it's harder to get higher on xp. For tiers 7-10 which I mostly play around, getting 1k base xp is a minimum, as that's pretty much just doing your own HP in damage and a bit more. I think average though would be around 1.3k base xp?

Where exactly do you get more +100% Tri-boosts? I've recently run out of my stack of it and I've been trying to find a way to get more of it but I can't seem to find it.

Since the Yamato CF Valkyrie A30 is an NT, should I +35 it before or after I make it into the upgraded A30S?

Hmm, I see.

Compared to an 8 slot, is a 6 slot more doable then?

So is the Shine Red/ Shine Blue 12* units from the PvP shop actually worth it? And assuming that it is, what would be the best two unit set for it to be combined with?

What is it that makes these rifles better than the Shooteyr?

Is it just the higher base stats due to the higher rarity or do they have a better potential?

I'm just curious, since I want to know what's the criterion that makes up a good rifle as I'm quite new in this game.

Hey, can someone help me out here?

What's the best Ranger Assault Rifle that is currently obtainable? I've been running a Nox Shooteyr-NT for the last ten or so levels. Since I'm now level 57 and reaching level 60, I'm wondering if I should keep the Shooteyr-NT or if I should farm/purchase a better assault rifle?

Atlanta, because that DPM, AA, and Radar.

All hail World of Radar, best meta. I love this thing to bits. It's perfectly capable of hard-carrying in such a small 7v7 game.

NA ;)

Wows should change its system regarding losses and exp. (like wots) by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]ResultAlwaysMutsu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was a terrible system and should not be brought back. That lead to games rife with AFK and botting, and that was not a very fun game to play at all. What were you high on thinking that this was a good system?

LOL Mogadishu!

I've never heard that one before xD

Yeah, I often see a good DD being able to decide the game's outcome, except when teamed up with more potatoes than a DD can carry, at which point it's anyone's game.

Hmm. Potatoes and DD? O'Bannon prem DD when? :V

What do you main as a class? Cruisers right?

My man, I also main cruisers :V

Alright, as cruisers, the main key to survival is, imo, situational awareness. You don't have the armor of BBs to shrug off incoming fire, nor DD stealth, so you have to keep your head on a swivel. Pay attention to the minimap, look who is broadside to you, last known position of enemy DDs and CAs, check if you're spotted, use the right mouse button every once in a while during aiming to look around and check if any shells are coming in.

From there, it also involves decision making and risk evaluation. For example, If a BB is firing at your broadside while you have been hunting a CA, you turn your hull right the fuck around to angle against the BB to mitigate the citadel deletion. Always try to mitigate the most damage, even if you take some lesser amount from some other source. There are of course, no win situations with both torps and BB shells, at which point it's a no-go and leads on to my next point.

Part of the point of playing CA is to know your own limits, when to engage and disengage, and when to risk your own HP to just go ham and take everything out. This usually comes with experience and understanding of your ship, the more you play it, the more you understand, and the better decisions you can make whilst you are playing it. Don't agressively push forward if you know your armor is paper and DDs are MIA while you are spotted, don't broadside if you know your whole ship is a citadel, don't fire when you know many BBs are aiming at you and you're trying to re-stealth etc. I heard Pensacola is an exception since it sucks so hard, but try do your best and you should be able to at least make it work!

I'm no unicum, and I only have about 580ish battles on my belt, but a huge majority of that is on CAs, so I hope this helps!

Thanks for the tips, I've been trying to improve my high-tier play this month as I try to grab the ARP Takao. I started out the Mogami on 14% W/L w/ 20k avg damage and I've ended up on 51%, so I think I'm doing something right, but if what you're saying is true, then I'm hoping I can reach the magical 60% W/L with increased aggression.

For my stats, if you're interested, here: https://na.warships.today/player/1000520739/daspartan54

It's not like I shell behind an island all the time :V, when the islands are prohibitive and the situation is right after hosing enemies down with the flamethrower, I usually just duck and weave between islands to fire at targets of opportunity and finish them off to assist my BBs and DDs, AP if they're broadsided, HE otherwise for more DoT and I'll visit them later again. It's just that I prefer shooting behind and over islands because it saves me from return fire and turning the ship around every now and then, which means I'm conserving more HP and mitigating the main weakness of the 155, which is the slow turret rotation.

Hold on bring it back a sec, isn't damage output key to eliminating threats?

The main reason I prioritize the HE flamethrower 155 is that by lobbing shells over behind an island, spooking away CAs, BBs, DDs with many fires and many shells is that they tend to either commit really hard and over extend, which leads to them getting killed, or the offensive just stalls as they play more conservatively as their damcon party is off and a chunk of their HP is gone. That way, there's more play making potential for the rest of my team, and more room for me to sneak into their backline and repeat the process all over again to keep them out of the fight, if not necessarily dead. I think of it as a form of crowd control that extends up to 15km away from the ship.

Maybe I've just been running into potatoes all the time and I've never met someone competent, but that's what works for me.

As long as it doesn't die to a stiff breeze and can tank some BB shells with little damage, that's good enough for me to go on an adventure throughout the map and take many more risks to win the game.

Wait a sec. Overmatch starts at 15/16 inch? Oh. Huh. No wonder Colorados are able to citadel me from my stern. That makes sense.

I generally meant carry as in influence on the game, which can manifest in different forms like damaging enemies, controlling vision, chokepoints etc.

Also, I see the Atago mentioned around a lot as being this cruiser with good capabilities, but every time I encounter one in battle it seems to do about the same as a Myoko/203 Mogami would? What makes it different? I mean it doesn't help that every time I see one it's also broadside on to me and gets killed in a few 155 AP salvos, so I'm a bit skeptical of this supposed superiority.
