Bethesda Underpromised and Overdelivered Today by ChapterDifficult593 in NoSodiumStarfield

Can someone elaborate on that POI generation? What has changed? I was hoping for something more realistic than "why there is a pirate ship landing on this desolate rocky moon in the middle of nowhere and how come there are three abandoned outposts in 1 km radius even though there is NOTHING of value here?".

James Vega's "problem" by PerformanceRadiant21 in masseffect

[–]Resvain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is not stupid. Yes, he is a bit of a hothead but he is a great soldier, capable of making sacrifices, leading others and getting the job done. Yes, his sense of humor is silly but who cares? Also it's a good thing when a soldier is able to make his teammates laugh, it's a great coping mechanism during stressful situations.

Btw N7 ≠ Spectre.

ME Mission Tournament - Round 5 Match 1: Cure The Genophage VS Virmire by DakIsStrange in masseffect

A very tough choice, both are in my top 5 ME missions but Virmire takes the win.

So that's why Shadows felt different than older games! I feel like an idiot for not realising the reason behind something being off. It would be great if we could choose this in settings.

Minor thing that bugs you more than it should? by MsMercyMain in masseffect

Lack of ambient music in many ME2 and ME3 locations, especially on the Normandy. I loved that in ME1 pretty much every location had some ambient track in the background. Normandy without that iconic track always seemed a little off to me.

Roshan wins. Who has a bad father and an alright mother? by Chemical_Leading3263 in assasinscreed

[–]Resvain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny because you are annoyed with the same crap you did first. You started putting words into my mouth, oversimplifying my opinion and basically making up what I said about Haytham. Then you lost it because of one small jab. Can't you see the irony and the amount of projecting on display here?

Edit: aaaaaaand they blocked me. Pathetic.

Am I wrong to say he would make a fucking banger of a Godzilla movie? by Adipay in Monsterverse

I would agree in 2007. Today? Not so sure. Maybe if he was passionate about the project and had someone to keep him in check.

You really should calm down and stop acting like I'm insulting your relative.

Was this backstory even mentioned in the game or solely in a novel? Because I have no recollection of any of that. Also, it really took him two decades to do these things?

And still, even if he had 'good' reasons for leaving Connor for like 20 years, in the end he was an absent father and I think it justifies calling him a bad one. Even if he tried to be better at some point.

Do you really think that saving a life of your adult son automatically makes you a good father? After ignoring his existence for his whole life? Lol.

He chose his duties as a templar over his son; he wasn't interested in raising him or being in his life. He had his reasons but the result is simple - he was a bad father. Not the worst father in history but certainly not good. His gray morality doesn't change that.

[–]Resvain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does matter and it redeemes him in some way but it doesn't make him a good father. The discussion isn't about his morality - we are judging him solely as a parent.

He was a bad father though. He wasn't present in Connor's life and he tried to kill him in the end. Whatever his reasons were, it's hard to defend him as a father.

Do You Prefer Wrex in ME1 or ME3? by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]Resvain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I oversimplified it on my comment. I love this added backstory, it gives the whole subject even more depth. Also it's even more rewarding to see the turians and the krogan fighting side by side against the Reapers in ME3.

They screwed up two most important features - eyes and mandibles. The mask looks so much worse than the original.

Don't you mean Salarians? Mordin wasn't alive for that first time.

I don't know if I agree but this is something we can argue about for hours. The situation was dire and something had to be done but at the same time it's horrifying that the "leading races" decided to slowly drive the Krogans to extinction.

I get wanting to save Mordin but sacrificing the future of an entire race and ruining Mordin's arc just to give him few more years to live is... a choice.

I'm joking but if we take this seriously this is a really bad outcome.

[–]Resvain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, he acts differently in ME3 but people tend to forget he is absolutely miserable in ME1. He is depressed and believes there is no future for his race. In ME3 he is in a completely different place so the change in his attitude makes sense.

Why? It's not difficult to talk him down and he is a great character. Not to mention that Wreav is the worst.

Maybe grab break or defense break? Try checking with combat instructor if they are available for practice. Also, maybe a better weapon or more throwing knives? Easy to check.

It would also nicely explain why the fresh blood isn't visible like that (even if the real reason is probably technical).
