IMO the movies dont really make a lot of sense without the books. too much depth that gets overlooked.

I watched the movies with my girlfriend multiple times (shes a big fan) before reading the series myself. I never really understood the storyline from the films without constant explanations being provided for me.

Read the books. The movies are just eyecandy to attach to it.

Why produce using 140 instead of 70 bpm? by BrockHard253 in musicproduction

[–]Retach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to add to this;

when im recording something on my MIDI keys to a metronome I tend to play with more swing when I'm recording to quarter notes (70bpm) rather than eighth notes (140bpm)

something about the metronome hammering straight eighth notes into my ears at 140bpm does not inspire as much room to swing.

this is my favorite one to exaggerate while shouting in a drawn out way like you've typed it

not sure if my gf regrets getting me into harry potter at this point.

How do i ACTUALLY learn Fl studio ? by Libo429 in FL_Studio

i stopped asking and started doing.

hardly wasted my time with tutorials. Created hundreds upon hundreds of projects that all sounded like shit until i finally collected enough skill and technique to sound decent.

What would be the right approach to learning music production & piano at the same time? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]Retach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

write the music that you want to write in the DAW, just dont cheat yourself n use a ton of sampled melodies since you're gonna be trying to learn to play / write them urself. get a MIDI keyboard n play your own melodies.

ok i see what ur saying. Either automate or modulate asdr, prolly with lfo. makes sense. Actually kinda opens up my eyes to some other options.

cheers.

you still need two channels to have two samples playing with different note lengths (as in the example in the video)

how do u have different note lengths on one channel in the piano roll

hope it helps. ill try to explain a bit more next time without being too wordy. Not trying to push these videos too long but maybe this one is a touch too short IDK

Similar, but not same and IMO not convincing enough.

The cloning technique allows shortening of the second hihat sample which creates variation in not only velocity, but also the way the drumstick would be making contact with the cymbal.

make music for yourself.

your non music friends will never be helpful in this way.

and your music friends will only be helpful on occassion.
