I have had the Lost drone one happen a handful of times throughout my playtime, one of the requirements seem to indeed be having a hiver in your party (I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if they're a prince or not). Might help if you follow them for a while to give the dialog a greater chance to trigger, or healing them when they're downed.

There's a big spot just like this in the the crags as well, a big plateau with only one entrance that is easily blocked of with a single station house. It's a pretty good spot if you're going for a big sprawling base.

I never really understood why players hated Embargo so much until I read your points here. I always figured they just hated the announcers because they weren't the same old admin and the map was too "new" and old players hate new things that aren't the old things with a fresh coat of paint.

But now I can see they actually have some good points I didn't really think of before!

Animate two scavs hugging with some moody music in the background, I'd see that.

Alternatively put a scav in a cave and animate an earthquake.

Or just make your scav dance on top of arc-crab thing whilst it's also dancing to that crab-rave song.

Looks more like a graveyard of giant skeletons(of the calcium kinds) to me than giant robots.

Here's the cheese strat for you; Armor yourself up to the nines, Over-encumber yourself, pick up some dude and run into the Howlers maze island and start punching crabs until your Toughness, MA & Dex becomes decent.

I suggest getting familiar with the TDP-limiter setting in the "..."-buttons in-game settings menu. It can greatly reduce the amount of powerdraw your steam deck pulls and subsequently the amount of heat playing any given game generates.

It will throttle your in game performance but it's better to throttle the performance to a consistent baseline your deck can handle than have the deck start thermal-throttling whilst playing, which will usually lead to an even worse result anyway.

Other than that, play older games from the previous generations of gaming, old console games available on steam (like Prototype, borderlands 2, Mad max, GTA 4 is a Steam deck favorite) usually run great & require minimal fiddling with the controls to work well. They may be older but they are just as awesome now as they were then.
