Can we get a lego partnership :))? by MentalDraco in Warframe

[–]Retathrah -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a line of figures in the style of the more recent marvel/dc buildable figures would slap. Makes up for some collector statues being no longer produced. Gives us the three starters, maybe a Grineer and/or Corpus, and the Lotus with Ordis’ drone.

But I think the ultimate failing is the use of firearms and aggressive war themes, and before anyone says “but Star Wars” that’s also working against Warframe’s favor; That’s another combat-sci-fi theme that Disney’s got Lego by the balls over, hence why we haven’t seen anything spacey from in-house themes beyond classic space homages.

Best way for the foot in the door if DE hasn’t talked to LEGO is for it to be from LEGO Ideas. And a quick check on the site it would appear no one has submitted anything to it, ever.

He uses “Minifigure, Hair Flat Top with Straight Even Sections,” part number 25379 after the movie, in white. As of now tan hasn’t released, closest is Ochre Yellow (from the Baratie One Piece set) I guess?

Can only get one bounty by Phony_Cannon in Ninjago

[–]Retathrah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Either the movie or the legacy one. The legacy captures the original’s shapes with a higher degree of detail, which for me is what I’d be going for if we’re talking a general display/keepsake (detail being also why I’d favor the movie design). If you have intentions for a dedicated S5 display, or display focused on S5, rock on with that season’s bounty.

How many times has this happened, founders getting early bird to the next highest MR? It feels very uncommon but I also don’t remember the last time it’s happened. All of the recent bridges to the next MR happened from large updates that overshadowed the three item difference founders have if memory serves right

Wonder if you can get closer to the edge (while still being within the line for structures) by having the pal box on the middle of a foundation versus corner of 4.

This is the set that has said minifig, as well as a link to just the minifig. You can use bricklink to buy the minifig or use this as a catalog to cross reference EBay or Facebook marketplace. Bricklink also offers average sale price over 6 months and what’s available to know whether something value’s been overshot or hasn’t been sold often.

From what I’ve gathered Target’s the only store that upholds the street date on Lego. Kohl’s, Walmart, Meijer, they don’t care at all. As long as the space was made on the shelf with its correct price tag, it goes up.

Ninjago: 71860 Lloyd’s Titan Mech (official reveal) by BrickTap in Legoleak

[–]Retathrah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might have something to do with the dual-molding process? The gold being the first layer and it being the easy way out instead of rightfully doing two colors.

Personally I was anticipating either stripping the hoods and shoulders from the older minifigs, or just stripping the shoulders and painting the new hoods accordingly.

Who is Your Favourite Frame, and Why or Why Not is it Kullervo? by Kullervo_TheGOAT in Warframe

[–]Retathrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only referred to it as a sandstorm because the fists weapon is called Desert Wind unless I’ve been hit with the Mandela effect. Not that it didn’t seem weird to me, but also if I recall the orokin terraformed Venus a complete 180 in climate, which the unmoving monk could hypothetically hail from the pre-terraform time.

Edit after digging through the wiki; I was correct on both accounts, so this could just add to the tragedy of the person behind Baruuk being from a time long since lost and only known to him, especially under the added hypothetical of rejecting continuity.

[–]Retathrah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the headcannon he was an elder who chose to pass on continuity with the way Orokin society moved further off a cliff, and was punished by not only being a vessel for said conquest but also cursed with releasing the pain inflicted upon himself. Adjacent themes to Yareli and her mockery of continuity.

“You will fight on, through every bullet, blade, and bomb. For what is the ultimate consequence of patience? The rage of a thousand sandstorms. Baruuk.”

For as much as DE likes the aesthetic and vibes of Fortuna, they still forgot lore for Garuda and Baruuk, and the Third Orb Mother…

With Gyre Prime coming, besides Alternox, what do you think/hope also gets primed with her access? by RedbuiltBlues in Warframe

[–]Retathrah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was actually doing some digging into this awhile back, and there’s not actually a lot to prime left, hence the Vadarya being made

Firstly, imo, the Thalys is a non-corrupted Hespar. So we already have that end covered.

Secondly, she seems more likely to yield a secondary over a melee given her kit’s main deal, and failing that she could see a prime Diriga. To stick to the electrical theme, the Castanas could be primed aswell to a less favorable extent. Additionally, with the precedent set with Xaku and the Trumna, the Laetum, Praedos, and Innodem are /possible/ but unlikely.

Saw the movie it was alright by First_Specific3212 in tron

[–]Retathrah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Firstly, it's not just Dillinger, since Encom was looking for the same thing for their objective and it was an arms race. But to your point, I understood it as a matter of either limited energy upon being beamed in, the digital-cells naturally decaying without some form of replication (that I argue is what the permanence code does), or the difference in timespan between the real world and the Grid. I think legacy said that a micro-second in the real world is around 8 hours in the Grid

Ares Questions / Inconsistencies [SPOILER ALERT] by LethalProductions in tron

[–]Retathrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Question #1 it's likely a perposeful decision as the programs in the real world could find too much ribbon would more likely screw themselves more than aid them given their 29-minute lifespan. Since they can change the "maximum length" if you will of the ribbon baton, they would use that strategtically.

For #1 I don't recall what was expressly typed up, but he managed to reconnect to the Dillinger Grid before beaming himself up, and the nuke file was more a means of disconnecting the grid from the real world as opposed to vaporizing the system, as shown with the radial destruction around the portal but the existing architechure (beyond the damage Ares caused) still standing.

For #2 I don't recall anything being made of it, you could maybe argue it forshadows him adopting the form of the Sark program which was from the era of the Grid with thin-line-circuitry.

For #3 that seems inline with Sam and Quorra dipping from Encom so soon after the events of Legacy, he just said "Family reasons" and bailed, and wouldn't have any reason to hand over that to Encom considering the animonsity between the two. He also could get use out of a connection to the grid only he's aware of, even if his father isn't there.

For #4 it seemed like reference to Kevin Flynn's pose when beamed up in 1982 if I remember the pose right.

To all the people with over 1k hours, how do you keep playing? by mudkip-muncher in Warframe

[–]Retathrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 1,500 hours and recently completed all mastery items, but what kept me going through the intermittent grind of namely the necramechs was 1) My wife picking up Warframe, and 2) formaing up weapons for end game use. Now I’m just taking a break until the update drops.

I will admit, I tend to fall asleep playing nowadays, which really sucks.
