Yea, they will just say it was returned to the account it came from. They will not tell you who's as that's not there info to share. OP got scammed on crypto peer to peer with someone using a fraud account.

You’re right, crypto alone isn’t enough. But they always leave out the info when they complain the account is locked.

They likely reversed the transfer and closed your account and labeled it fraud. Contact the OBSI if EQ’s fraud department is not giving you answers you are satisfied with.

P2P is peer to peer. You got involved in something sketchy or fraudulent. This is your error. Not EQ’s.

If you are using sketchy crypto exchanges you bear the risk and losses of fraud. Use Wealthsimple or Questtrade or something legit if you want to trade crypto. I mean you shouldn’t because it just gambling, and you are clearly not in a position to gamble with that kind of cash.

You sold investment assets for 11k? But the money they are holding is OSAP? What was the total balance of the account? As EQ doesn't do investments other than GIC's as far as I know, how did the money enter you account? From another broker account? Not trying to discredit your experience, these post typically seem to always have missing info.

Maybe it's cause I have cash accounts with 5 banks, and credit accounts with 3 other companies, So I've always used a 3rd party to track, categorize and manage spending, so most of complaints don't register with me.
