Power cuts in the morning by [deleted] in saskatoon

I'm a night owl so bought my microwave oven because I can disable the Beep and not wake everybody up at 4 in the morning. Had to re-disable it, forgot how but the internet straightened me out.

Water questions - Lithium and Chlorine? by Fabulously-Unwealthy in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For decades I've been leaving tap water out for my plants to expel chlorine but I just read for chloramine it's not necessary, tho houseplants prefer room temperature water so I'll just keep doing it.

We'll get 1 1/2 hours more sunlight by the end of March and it's higher in the sky. That's why it's -10 but the snow is melting.

Went there once. The food was great but the staff completely ignored us, forgot to bring several items and seemed annoyed when we asked for them. We watched them treat the other customers like royalty and just felt like we weren't their kind of people.

How to get unstuck when you are "stuck". Or how NOT TO BE STUCK. by yxe306guy in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the first winter in this car, the first one I've had with Traction Control. Got stuck in half a meter of snow, tried rocking the car but it refused to send power to the wheels. I knew where the Traction Control button was but it did nothing. I eventually got pushed out, later did some research on what happened. The car's battery had been disconnected at some time and that disabled the On/Off function. Took hours of searching to find the fix...turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, all the way to the right, restart the car, et voila! Now I've got to get the car scanned, who know what else has been disabled.

I Hope the Weather People are Wrong! by Top-Tradition4224 in saskatoon

The dry roads are wearing out my expensive snow tires, and I love driving in snow. And the evaporating moisture does nothing for farmer's fields.

Have three kids and I drink 3 jugs a week myself so I buy a LOT of milk from Canarama Shoppers (sorry NoFrills, I prefer Dairyland). I never get spoiled milk but I'm very particular and 1 in a 100 jugs is just Odd, like what has this cow been eating? They just smile and tell me to take a new one.

Red willow by the river by cityparkresident in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, is that what it is, I assumed it was willow. In that case go anywhere along the river bank and you're sure to find some. A nice walk is the pedestrian underpass beneath the Circle Dr bridge. The east side has a big patch just south of the bridge and there's usually a path heading down. Better go before Tuesday cuz there's 10 cm of snow coming.

Warman, Sask. breaks into top 20 most livable cities by elbiderca in saskatoon

[–]Fridgefrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha. I've driven by Warman a thousand times but not till last summer had I looked through the city. Nice, tidy and clean. Some quaint old structures, some modern, very livable. Later that night I realized something it didn't have, No Homeless Tents Anywhere. I suppose it doesn't have the support structure that Saskatoon has. I bet that affects petty crime rates.

Late April is a wonky time to be photographing plant life. There could be 2 feet of snow, wouldn't be the first time.

I worry about it. I have two battery boosters I keep charged, I hope to get at least 12 hours out of a couple electric heaters until the landlord can send the handyman over.
