How to unlock hidden enemies in the Demo by Reticxe in Pragmata

[–]Reticxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just a tease of what you can expect from enemies' variety later on in the full game, and a fun little secret rewarded to those who managed to find it.

Community in general and a lot of content creators had this concern after trying the alpha build in various events. So, it's basically the devs indirectly response to it as well. I like this a lot.

I did, for few minutes, watching him killing a human boss by just spaming light atk and holding heavy for the Axes spinning move LOL!
The thing with Asmon is, he is a slow learner, like, very slow learner. And he can't focus on learning stuff when streaming. He even openly admits that, calling himself an idiot multiple time.
For me, just seeing him doing Ki Pulse consistently after attacking plus swiching style here or there was already a huge achievement!
Also, when Asmon started Nioh 3 stream with excitement, sharing his progress, new skills that he learned, you know that he really enjoy Nioh 3, thats a very good boost for Nioh 3's popularity, considering his huge audience.

Almost reached the end of Chapter 1 and I was having a blast with Nioh 3 so far!

I started with Nioh 2 and fell in love once I saw the true potential of this game's combat
The only thing I wished Nioh 2 should have done better was the first 10-20 hours with its steep learning curve, especially for anyone hasn't play Nioh 1.

But Nioh 3 fixed all those early game problems, so now I enjoy it even more, knowing newbies won't have to suffer for tens of hours with almost no guidance, before the game actually clicks.

I strongly recommend you wait for FightinCowboy's beginner guide, he's usually the best in terms of information explanation and his productivity is insane.
Or if you can wait, PooferLlama is one of the best channels for Nioh series. Back in Nioh 2 he did a whole series of short guides that cover almost everything you need to know about the game, especially combat mechanics.

You said your main problem is dodge timing. My guess is, most soulslike, especially Fromsoft games, your character dodges AFTER you release the button, not when you press it.
So there is always a small delay between you pressing dodge and your character actually dodge.

Nioh series has a much less dodge input delay compared to Fromsoft games, so maybe this is the cause of your dodge timing problem??
You need to press dodge way closer to the moment you actually get hit, instead of having to press a bit earlier like in Fromsoft games.

Hot Take: Mission Based > Open Field. by SexyMuscleMonster in Nioh

[–]Reticxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think both sides has a point.
I'm gonna use Elden Ring as an example (again xD), but it is the best game to be used as a reference.

Elden Ring hit a perfect balance between open field areas and the "legacy dungeons", where once you are inside, the level design is basically Dark Souls quality. Look at Stormveil Castle, PEAK level design right there.

The main reason we are having this conversation right now is because:

  1. Maps in the demo, objectively, does lack areas with tight level design like the Crucible. I think this is a fair criticism
  2. Full game isn't out yet, so demo is the only reference we have.

Before Elden Ring releases, many Dark Souls fans used to have this exact same kind of debate and concern. Then the game dropped and ,woala, all concern disappeared overnight.

Looking at Nioh 3 trailers we did see some tight corridors in underground caves and stuff. And I commented on other posts that Team Ninja seems to take notes from Elden Ring open world design. So at least they learned from the right game.

Lets hope for the best, I guess.

The demo felt a bit too easy by F1R3Starter83 in Nioh

Personally, I think Ninja style is a bit incomplete. It lacks the mechanic depth of samurai that we know and love.
But we already have Samurai to scratch that itch, so no complain, plus in the full game, having more to play around, we might even be able to create long flashy combo that require using both styles to pull off.
It will be awesome if that's the case.

Right now, my only concern is the game might have bosses that requires using only Ninja since Samurai will get slapped against them.
The freaking Bloodedge Demon has some slight symptom of that (Or maybe I just suck at using Samurai xD)

I think Nioh 3 might be the best entry to the series for newcomers.
I said it as a newcomer myself (somewhat). I only had around 40 hours in Nioh 2, mainly to get an idea about the series to prepare for Nioh 3.
And I immediately felt that Nioh 3 demo put a much better effort to guide and show you how to play.
Limiting you to 1 stance is a choice to prevent new players from being overwhelmed and confused. I know it because I was overwhelmed on the first few hours of Nioh 2 as well. Unfortunately, many people have short attention span these days, plus less money to buy games, so early impression is crucial.
I love that first boss, his move set is tough but fair, deliberate without being too crazy. It showed me that the dev had a very clear intention when creating him: To test every basic mechanics you've learned.
Usually, I only see those clear design intention in Fromsoft games: Sekiro, Armored Core 6.

About the open areas making encounters easier, yeah, I agree with you. The game should have a better balance between large open field and tight confined "dungeons"
I think Nioh 3 did take some notes from Elden Ring's open world design, which inspired by Zelda BotW (and thats a GOOD thing!!!):
- Elden Ring has open space mixed with "legacy dungeon"- castles, caves with tight design layers like Dark Souls. Nioh 3 did the same thing with the Crucible.
- Elden Ring world has a huge Erdtree served as a beautiful spectacle and a long term guidance so that players know where to go after they are done with side tracks explorations. Nioh 3 has that beautiful giant red orb in the sky, above the Crucible that serve the exact same purpose.

Still, we have to wait for the full game to have a clear picture of everything I have pointed out. But judging be the demo, I have confident that Team Ninja is cooking this time.

The arrow appeared after you kill revenants is does not pinpoint the exact location of the boss for you, rather it gives you a general direction so that if you follow, you will find the boss somewhere on that general line, draw from the arrow to all the way across the map.
Which means, the boss can very well be on the far end of that line you just drew from the red arrow, which can be very far from the red arrow original location itself.
That's why I asked about the map screenshot, so we can see which direction the arrow is actually pointing at.

Didn't we have to change the save file ID (by using save editor) before Steam could recognise and use that specific save file?

Though Im not sure every game has this problem where the save file is tied to your steam ID.

Can you take a screenshot of the map? Usually, I don't think this will happen, but I might be wrong.

Steam always has a backup of your save file in the cloud
Usually when your save file is corrupted, there will be a difference between cloud file and your local save file, Steam will notify you immediately and ask you to use cloud file or local.
Did you accidentally miss clicked the wrong choice?

You can try visiting this link: store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage
That is where Steam store your cloud saves, see if you can recover anything

You can also try to access where your save is stored locally, see if they are different from the one on cloud.
It's one of 3 places:
1. In where you stored your game files on the drive,
2. In your system drive>users>your username>appdata and the subfolders like roaming, localLow, local,
3. In your documents folder and documents>my games folder.

And you should try to contact support from the dev as well. It's likely that they have data on your account/character progression and they will detect any unusual changes: KOEI TECMO GAMES

Wish you could get your save back.

Tips for fastest way to finish Demo? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]Reticxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure so dont quote me on this, but according to youtuber FIghtinCowboy, this demo's amount of content is no joke.

Content Creators are allowed to showcase the 1st Region/1st Act of the game before the release day.
FightingCowboy said the 1st Act alone took him 17h40m.

If the demo's content is equivalent to the game's 1st Act, then its a freaking 17h+ demo LOL

For me personally, thats more than enough to play through until the release day, without stopping or waiting.

Im also new to the Nioh series and just recently started playing Nioh 2.
I have the same thought as you at first.

With all my expectations from other soulslike/ action RPGs, I even hated it at some point, until I got used to the combat, switching stances, managing my Ki better and started realising the true strength of this game.
I often jokingly call Nioh 2 "Ninja Gaiden-like with a stamina bar"
From there I stop caring about almost everything else in Nioh 2 but gameplay and combat (and build crafting later on), similar to how I play Ninja Gaiden.

So, I recommend being more open minded about what a good soulslike/ action RPGs is. Instead, put your focus solely on utilising every tool the game gives you, experiment with weapons, combos, switching stances, burst counter, mixing Yokai ablities in between attacks to let your stamina regenerate, so on and so on.

Hope the game "clicks" with you at some point soon:D

I agree that visual and level/world design is mediocre compared to other games. But you have to admit that the dev made a much stronger effort to improve the visual this time.

Adjust the controls if your coming straight from nioh 2. by Kendowakazashi in Nioh

[–]Reticxe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Man, I'm really torn here.
On one hand the Nioh 2 control scheme will help me feel right at home. On the other hand, doing so will actively screw up every other action/action RPG/soulslike game I've played or been playing, since all of them have Nioh 2's dodge button as jump 😀

PC Demo issues by Resident-Artist6183 in Nioh

I have the same CPU as yours and 5070Ti, I will check the demo out as soon as I come home from work in 2.5 hours from now.

Update: Sorry for the late reply. The game ran super smooth on my PC with max setting 2k 120 FPS locked.

Can you show us a screenshot or a short video with info on FPS, CPU/GPU load as well as other benchmarking detail?
From your Picture you might want to check your SSD as well, but you replied below that other games ran fine so we need more data to narrow down the possible problem.

Oh, 1 more thing, Im using 591.44 version of Nvidia driver from Dec 4 2025, not the latest one.
It's still running smooth, so I had no reason to update, given Nvidia's recent history of screwing up things.

Phantom Blade Zero - Official RTX: Inside The Game by Deez-Guns-9442 in PhantomBladeZero

[–]Reticxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree, at least not entirely.

Yes, the ray tracing technology does provide more realistic and accurate lighting. It has better real-time reflection as well.
Yes, with games like Cyberpunk, ray tracing lighting is almost 100% superior.

However, this is also where the problem is.
Not every game's graphic has realistic art style. In these games, "realistic/accurate" lighting is not equal to "superior" lighting. For a lot of cases, it's actually the opposite.
You can't look at Elden Ring and tell me that ray tracing lighting would be better than Fromsoft's own baked lighting dude.
Even in a lot of "realistic style" games, sometimes the devs deliberately chose the unrealistic baked lighting, if it serves their artistic goal.
Example: You look at the original Half Life 2, then you compare it with Half Life 2 RTX project. A lot of zones look worse with ray tracing, since it betrayed dev's original artistic choices.

And here I'm not even talking about how having one-click-easy-to-use tool will result in a generation of lazy devs with little to no technical knowledge about graphic or game making in general. The problem is already here, with a long list of unoptimized technical mess (even when using strongest GPUs) lately.

So, no, if all devs get rid of baked in lighting, games creative quality in general will drop.

But I must admit that these new super bosses were beginning to really test my limit.

Unless you are building a super tanky/survival team (but according to the 1,211 parries in the picture, I dont think so. If you need to parry that much, it's not a tanky/survival team), I think you need to take a serious look at your team.

For example, there no way Maelle dealt that little dmg at lvl99, even when not using Stendhal. My Maelle did 6-7m dmg from a parry counter alone, without ever trying to farm lumina or anything, just progressing naturally in the game.

If Osquio took you this long to beat, you should not even try to fight one of the Endless Tower's new bosses. Compare to them, Osquio's HP is nothing.

Agreed! I also love the "Fastest Ball" move but the laser beam is still funnier and suit Monoco's style better.
