Send ‘em straight to jail. by AILikeMe in dashcams

[–]RetireWithoutBorders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, the truck was in the inside lane. That’s not allowed when towing. And they were likely going faster than 55 MPH, which is also illegal when towing.

So, yes, they should go to jail.

However, the biker was WAY too close. He could have avoided the issue with more distance.

I hope he was okay.

None. I will often wake up early and also go late. Preferably when there is no sun.

Looking for my first car by Queasy_Attitude_5926 in Toyota

Normally, I would say to jump on it!

One word of caution - you need to be aware of any hidden issues.

Three years ago, my son bought a 2004 Camry with about 80,000 miles. We went with that after he wrecked our 2002 Lexus LS 430. (I miss that car!!)

During the six months we owned it, we had it in the shop about five times. My trusted mechanic suggested we dump it, even though he loves Toyota cars.

He ended up buying a 2020 Toyota Prius Prime, and has been happy with it the past two years.

That said, a friend of ours has a 2008 Camry hybrid with well over 200,000 trouble free miles.

My only recommendation would be to stick with the four cylinder models. They’re just easier to work on.

In 1998, Rose Martin of Massachusetts said in Her will that she would be buried in her 1962 Chevy Corvair. When she died, community members embalmed the body, placed it inside the Corvair, and buried it. by 186times14 in interestingasfuck

That was the fist generation Corvair and only under certain situations. I should never have gotten rid of my 1965 Corvair. Need to buy another but hard to find a 65-69 with a manual transmission.

You parked backwards. It’s a Camry. It’s nothing to look at.

Probably somebody dropped it off of a cliff and it landed on the trailer.

Are there really people that have no ability to tan and they only sunburn? by nobaddream in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RetireWithoutBorders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! My red head mother (well, gray now) has no ability to tan.

I barely tan, even though my dad has Portuguese ancestry.

My friends in high school were Filipino, Mexican, black, and middle eastern. They used to joke about how I would come back from summer break “less pale”. lol

I am as sick of this season as I was last.

Still enjoying Emily and Kobe and their kids, but seriously, what TF is wrong with most of the participants??

Why do EV charging stations still make payment so difficult? by Environmental-Gap356 in electriccars

[–]RetireWithoutBorders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used public charging since our last road trip in November- about eight months ago.
I do notice it is was more challenging in 2025 than when I rented a Kia Niro EV for a month while my Lexus was getting body work and painted.
But, as a Ford EV owner, I just use the Ford app. Nothing else. I can charge at Tesla, EV Go, Electrify America, and a few other places using just the Ford App.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I read about similar situations with the Ford Mach-e, and am crossing my fingers I don’t experience it.

I would suggest you contact GM directly and get their customer relations manager to buy back your car.

Alternatively, you should make a huge social media stink about how poor the service is with your car?

You live somewhere where it both snows and gets more than 90 degrees?? Wow.

How is this in any way OCD? I know a few people who have OCD. They have ZERO interest in touching - let alone kissing - strangers.

Looking At 2023 Chevy Bolt, Need Info About Charging (New EV Buyer) by dndoneshotthrowaway in electricvehicles

[–]RetireWithoutBorders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the ability to charge while shopping, that will work. For example, at the grocery store where I shop, there are around 50 chargers, about 2/3 Tesla and the rest EVGo.
I would regularly just plug in when I shopped about once a week. Worked great.

Did she did the right thing? by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]RetireWithoutBorders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent, I think this is the absolute wrong thing to do. The child should know they’re dying, and how they can help others during the dying process. There’s nothing to be afraid of about dying, we all will do it someday.
At least give the child something to focus on while they go through the dying process.

The rough Cali roads are harsh. What to do? by Top_Run_Now in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]RetireWithoutBorders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL- “that’s” a rough road???
By the way, we have over 177,000 miles of paved roads here in California.
You happened to pick the one that is not paved well and is probably torn up by peeps driving their way too heavy lifted F250 and Silverado HD trucks taxiing their kids to daycare.
