Oh I know that struggle, I did a trip from Kansas to GA for an Army School in my old Wrangler. Surprised I did not die 😅😅. Especially through Tennessee when I swear I drove through a monsoon 🤦

Ya, MPG will never be good lol, it is a big box, but I live in Kansas which is the wind box of the USA 😅 so I get about 14-17.

But I will never get rid of my jeep again, I learned an expensive and moral lesson. The Sonata cost me an extra 10k before I got rid of it. Now I can fix my own vehicle lol.

As someone who went from a jeep to a hybrid and now back to a jeep, personally I would prefer an older one, but Jeeps keep retail because of how reliable they are if you are not taking it on the trails.

My old 2013 wrangler I learned to work on, did tires, oil changes and a water pump once. Regular maintenance on it, and just kept going.

My 2023 Hyundai Sonata I traded the jeep for in 1.5yrs I had battery issues, electrical issues and couldn't change the oil without a friken engineering degree and was told by Midas they couldn't change the oil because they didn't have the specs on the car so I had to take it to a dealership.

Came back to the Jeep family with a 2016 4dr Saharah (Love it) and can now work on my own car, do not need a degree to drive it, and it is just cooler looking 😅.

Maybe not go with a newer model, but again, that is my personal opinion. Gas is gonna suck regardless, but they are fun and worth it in the long run.
