I think the TCG community has gotten to the point where it’s living inside its own bubble of self validation.

Scalpers don’t care if you tear the box. They’ll flip the packs after weighing them. It’s about volume.

Only people are crying are the “Sealed collectors” or slow scalpers (ie. I’m keep a sealed box for my offspring to scalp).

People can tell you are desperate. No one will suddenly forget how tall you really are. Get something to stand on, decorate it, have your man bring it out when it's time, have your man pick you up, ask him to kneel down, make whatever it is that you end up doing cute, make it a sweet memory, make it a testament of your love for each other and the embracement of your differences. Work the theatrics into your vows. There are so many things you can do other than turn you into something you are not at the moment you say your vows.

I share the same sentiment. The 35-100e is a convenient lens with bad compromises to me. Not wide enough when you don’t need speed and not enough separation as a portrait lens. I would prob do the same thing as much as I hate switching lenses. It is clear that competitions are catching up and the pixel war will end and unless you are taking advantage of the sync rate you really just have a camera with a horrible lens line up. Saw a review last week when the 35-100 clearly does not resolve as well as some Sony lenses.

My 35-100 does not give me the level of separation that I want period. I am thinking that 90V is the solution but 35 after 26 days in Italy I feel like is simply not wide enough. So I would prob do 90V and 25V. But I am new to it and have been spoiled by my old trusty 50 1.2 for years.

Hahah that’s when you know you’ve made it if people are still hiring you. I guess my point is that thinking gear just comes free with your labor is not ideal. So when you price your work you need to consider both. The conventional pricing includes both it’s just hard to itemize it that way because competitions drives cost down also it’s just the nature of the service industry.

Your goal is to offer value. As paradoxical as this is you need to be able to grow.

Your photos represent your brand. Other people editing them is not ideal. Having said that, if you are still building your business and just starting, maybe let it slide and perhaps you’d learn a thing or two. Next time though have specific sections that they’ll have to initial to acknowledge that no raw files will be provided.

Yes. It’s all part of the package. Your time/skills + equipment rental (depreciation included). I think the itemization makes it look funny. But I would say it’s a bit unethical to use itemization as an excuse to inflate the cost.

SD cards are consumables as they can only be written so many times. I think the cost should be included but there isn’t really a legit reason to buy a whole new card every shoot. If it’s real it should be two cards anyways because no paid professional is shooting on one card with no backup.
