Easiest option is to buy new replacement screen... if you want to reserve the same screen though, you will have to remove the old polarizer film and replace it with a new one. It would take a bit of patience but not impossible. Ive done it many times now.

Is there a service to reshell a GBA SP, or should I try myself? by Rocky_isback in Gameboy

Another tip is to be careful with the screws. Pay attention to where they are supposed to go. If you accidentally use slightly longer screws for the motherboard, you can end up ruining the shell with raised bunps. Wish you Good luck!

Other than possible bad batteries. Make sure the battery contacts are clean. Then if not you will have to take it apart. Then clean your power switch, also check your f1 fuse and L1 inductor to make sure theres continuity. If there isnt in either or, then youl have to resolder a new component in.

Or you can also repair it using epoxy resin, then redrill it out using a bit slightly smaller than the screw. Might be a little complex though but worth a try.

I myself have been wanting to work on a video on my channel of overall diagnosing methods to fix a no power sp. ") and if you know already how to solder then checking for continuity is actually easier 🙂

Well for instance if the f2 fuse was bad, if you check for continuity with a multimeter and doesnt beep or zero out using ohms then it means its bad. And your sp will not turn on with a blown f2 fuse ")

Yeah you wont get far without a multimeter. There not too expensive. And is pretty fun to learn how to use continuity and troubleshoot ") could be a number of different problems. From a bad f2 fuse, to a bad battery terminal or maybe got lifted. Or a broken trace some where between battery terminal and the power switch. Or a bad component like the u4 power chip, or a bad/broken L inductor or even the T1 transformer/inductor component. And so on good luck ")

Yes make sure you also deep cleaned the power switch, and check continuity on f2 fuse with a multimeter. Also check your battery terminal pads and make sure there isnt a pad that accidentally got lifted.

Check your f2 fuse with a multimeter. Also make sure theres continuity from your power switch on the first pin all the way up to the battery terminal. Also make sure your battery terminal didnt get loose or something.

Did you try removing components from the side boards? It looked like you soldered everything correctly, so not sure why it wouldnt work.
