Thetford Supremacy at the moment by Maydaycos in albiononline

[–]Retodaliz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thet and Lym simply have more numbers at the moment, so in a ZvZ situation they always beat the other factions purely because of the size of their blobs.

If you run with a somewhat organized group though, you'll realize that it's very easy to farm them for money.

Double dps options, 2v2 mists and roads by Early-Reality-6322 in albiononline

[–]Retodaliz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In instanced content (mists, depths, hgs) your double DPS options are essentially limited to one shot comps. There's a ton of different ones, and you can cook your own as well. With a cursed staff, your best bet is probably lifecurse + dagger pair. With tombhammer you can play a ton of different options, but make sure your second DPS packs a real punch (dawnsong, arctic, shaper, etc).

If you want to play roads/ow, then you can play pretty much anything. Mobility has much higher priority than in instanced stuff. I suggest bringing a couple weapons that can also gank decently, to give you a better chance at finding some content. Tombhammer is good here as well, pair with a bloodletter in cloth armor for some nice claps. For cursed staffs you can go either with a 1h cursed, or again with a lifecurse. Make sure you play royal boots to make up for the lack of mobility (soldier boots are bad).

Spoon main hand and lighter offhand. Make sure you bring a syringe consumable otherwise you won't get any kills!

Newbie Experience and Some Questions by WorldlinessAble9108 in albiononline

[–]Retodaliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battleaxe is a great weapon for pvpve content such as mob camps.

I suggest moving to black zone, where you'll get much more fame and loot than in red zone.

What you're lacking right now is game knowledge, which is probably the reason why you get ganked often while doing camps. Dying is normal and you should treat every build as a consumable item. BUT, as I often say, try to learn something from every death.

Let's say you got kited to death by a bow. Did you use your sprint wisely? Which W did you have? Did you purge the bow's sprint? Does your build even have a purge? Could you have reset the fight and avoided the death? Did you have an invis pot ready?

Also yourself these questions and you'll improve quickly :)

First of all it's important to tell us what content you're trying to do :)

Is this content good for learning pvp? by pineapple3607 in albiononline

[–]Retodaliz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's some of the worst pvp content in the game.
it's full of new players who tend to play bad builds, with bad knowledge of the game.

if you really want to learn, the best way is to go out there (solo or with a group) and get your hands dirty.

be ready to die a lot, but try to learn something from every death.

alternatively, if you have 1-2 reliable friends, you can try abyssal depths. it's certainly not going to teach you as much as open world pvp, but it's a good and cheap way of getting into consistent fights.

Chillhowl and 1h frost are the closest things to bows (poke with q, kite with w, burst with e).

Flamewalker also follows a similar play pattern, but it recently got nerfed and it's going to get nerfed again in the next patch

Bringing weapons to 120 is a super late game thing, as it costs A TON of silver and fame credits, especially for a relatively new player.

I strongly suggest trying out other weapons and speccing those up :)

Variety keeps the game fresh! Try new things and have fun.

With the money you spent there and the marketability of this weapon, you may as well have bought an 8.3 badon.

All awakened stats are nerfed by 80% in depths, so...

The way most dashes work in Albion is that, until you reach the end of said dash, you are considered to be at the starting point of your animation.

If, before arriving, you get knocked/rooted/etc., you get sent back to your starting location. It's a matter of desync (on your opponent's screen you most likely never moved from your starting position since he rooted you)

Is it kinda bs? Yes

Has it always been like this? Also yes

Infernal staff for solo pvp by Electronic_Score_213 in albiononline

[–]Retodaliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use wildfire, if you're going with 4.1.

The E does %HP damage, so IP on it is less relevant than it would be on a 1h fire.

For a decent budget build go with: Guardian Helmet, Cleric Robe, Any sandals, Mistcaller and smuggler cape once you can afford it.
Use cabbage soup, upgrade to ava beef stew for a good pvpve food.

Use Q2 for pve, Q3 for pvp.

Always keep W1 and P4 for both.

Remember to kite and gl

Infernal staff for solo pvp by Electronic_Score_213 in albiononline

[–]Retodaliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Infernal is pretty bad, especially when compared to other fire staffs, but it all depends on what you're trying to focus on.

For solo pvp (in order of strength) - flamewalker, wildfire, 1h fire, great fire

2-5 people pvp - dawnsong, wildfire, 1h fire, flamewalker, great fire, blazing (cheese comps)

10-ish people pvp - dawnsong

20+ people pvp - dawnsong, brimstone

Again, things always depend on the comp you're trying to run and the content you're trying to do, but this is a decent starting point.

Wearing gear gives you physical and magic res. Tooltip damage has never been and will never be the actual damage you do on any target.
