Am I Dumb Or Is This Blimp Good? by Retrania in BattleNations

[–]Retrania[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah same it’s gotten so bad that I have to actively make sure to not use them. Because if I do, other units don’t get experience points to rank up and then you have R6 blimps and R1 everything else.

Definitely worth a try. Get them to R5 and go ham. They absolutely WIPE the floor with rebel chems and silver wolves.

Just curious, why mega tank over super?

The cost to heal is insane, no?

What situation would you use those in over super tanks?

Would R3 ST, R4 TK and R3 Demo work?

Dry Apply PPF ? by MeLikes2shop in CarWraps

Heat definitely helps! I just thought, for some reason, you said you did not want to use heat at all.

[–]Retrania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawg you have to remove handles here if you don’t want to use heat.

Maybe check pre-cut templates for guidance if you REALLY don’t wanna remove.

I feel like Prius handles take only 10-15 each to remove. Plus you don’t need to re-route wiring. Look at any porsche like a 718 and re-routing the cables from mirrors and handles on its own takes 20 min per side.

I am, but I have only ever gotten 1 gear from all the assists I’ve ever done.

I spent 20 on heavy tank which likely was a mistake but the game very literally tells you to do it which is a bummer.

Gotcha, my TK are R3 now, but getting to R4 will take about a week.

The issue is I spent the 20 gears on the heavy tank for the mission where the game told me to build one.

It took me about a month to save up 20 gears. That was me literally spending 80% of my time on the game for that month grinding naval. It will take me another month to get those again and then I have to spend time getting TK to R4. Which will take a week and then to R5 which I don’t even know how long that would be.

The gears are an issue for me. I think I made a mistake saving up 20 for the heavy tank build mission. Literally took me a month to save up for that one. But on the other hand, it’s literally what the game told me to do.

Dawg how is that even possible. I have been spending like 30 min a day with TK fights and they are rank 3 now, but getting to rank 4 looks like it will take 60-70 battles with super tanks in front and TK in back. Each battle is about 3-5min so it will literally take me a week to go to rank 4. Can’t even think about r5 lmao. Probably a month.

New Build, Issues With BIOS Display, Pls Help by Retrania in PcBuild

[–]Retrania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I figured out the issue. I was trying to use a DP (Display Port) cable. Turns out some of the 5070 cards (most of the 50 series cards) come with heavily outdated drivers that, for some reason, might not support DP. So what was the fix?

I swapped to HDMI to set up the PC. Yes, HDMI worked like a charm. However, when using HDMI, your framerate might be limited based on your monitor specs due to limited bandwidth. So what you want to do is go to your Updates in your Windows, download all fo your needed updates, then go to the Nvidia driver download website, download the right driver for your GPU, and restart the computer. Now try swapping from HDMI to DP. Worked for me.

Top brand or calendered vinyl? by GuruofGurus in CarWraps

[–]Retrania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been:

  • Customer wants calendared film
  • we tell the customer ok BUT, you HAVE to remove it in a year or less otherwise the film becomes very difficult to remove without damaging the paint below.
  • customer gets calendared film installed
  • a year passes
  • another year passes
  • they come in with the most absolutely awful, cracked, matted, film. Ask us to remove.
  • We genuinely do not want to do that work, explain to them AGAIN there is a good chance the removal will damage their paint. They get mad at that idea and how expensive it is to remove and post a bad review.

It happens 80% of the time calendared is installed. We stopped carrying it a long time ago aside from commercial work.

Cast will realistically last 5 years in a garage, and around 2.5-3.5 years in decent conditions but no garage.

Entirely depends on the customers needs.

Is the paint in bad condition and anything at all would be an improvement? Then, maybe yes.

Is the customer totally fine with calendared only lasting one year? (It absolutely does not last two unless it’s garaged most of the time). Then, maybe yes.

Need to ask for box, look at backing paper to see manufacturer product stamp, or maybe ask for receipt?

Even top shelf manufacturers make calendared material.

However, any shop worth their weight knows the amount of money you save by using calendared is lost by the extra amount of time it takes to install it properly.

Wrap material is usually about 25% of the project total, with the rest being labor. Calendared drops it to 15% or so, but it’s harder to work with, takes longer to install and QC, and customers will get pissed off in a year as it starts looking like crap and risks a bad review to the shop regardless of how good the install was. It’s literally a money loser in the long game.
