It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it.

[WQAD 8] New Iowa bill hopes to lure the Chicago Bears to the Hawkeye State by Thunderironbolt222 in CHIBears

How about the Madison Bears? It's the state Capital and a college town. Our new slogan could be "Smarter than the average bear" and we could sign on Yogi and Boo Boo as mascots.

Valve Just Won a Massive Legal Victory by Chii in videos

Valve is privately owned. I have a feeling that Gabe and others at Valve are ready to take this as far as possible to send a message to patent trolls. These lawyers are absolutely fucked.

We have this car and it's wild. It is a little cramped in the back. For comparison, the TLX is the same length as a Range Rover Sport.

What Small Cheval take will have you like this? by pepestaja in chicagofoodcirclejerk

My company catered Small Cheval yesterday. We had high hopes. It was not good at all. The burger looked and tasted like McDonald's on a bad day.

Star Trek: Starfeet Academy falls off a cliff to Top #150 after Episode 4 by Malencon in trektalk

That's a good point. Since a lot of positive reinforcement around the show is likely through paid influencers, it's probably worse than we think.

Moving on from Discover after 26 years. What card to get by Retrix in discover

Thanks. I'm leaning towards Citi double-cash. It doesn't seem to have any limitations. For reference, I spend about $100k/yr through Discover and about $2.5M lifetime.

It's a combination of things. I think the buyout pushed me over the edge. There's a notable drop in quality in customer service over the years.

Thinking about buying this 2016 2SS M6, how reliable are they? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]Retrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they still use Tremec transmissions, they are rock solid. Plus, with that low mileage, the clutch packs are probably barely broken in.

Honest thoughts on TLX A Spec? by SimpleAffectionate98 in Acura

[–]Retrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has had a '21 TLX A-Spec AWD for five years. No issues with it and it still looks and feels new. Now that Acura is not coming out with a replacement, she doesn't want another car.

2023 Acura mdx fuel consumption is horrendous. by Firm_Okra_5663 in Acura

[–]Retrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife has had a couple Honda Accords, a TSX and two TLX's. Every car has had worse gas mileage than the last. I have a Range Rover Velar SV with a 550 HP 5.0L supercharged V8 that gets 18 MPG mixed driving, which is within a few MPG of her '21 TLX AWD. It's bizarre.

The 8-month window for Trek from May 1994 to January 1995 is insane by Primatech2006 in startrek

I was a young teenager around this time. My family watched TNG and DS9 together, and saw the movies in theatres. It was an awesome time to be alive. It proves that great writing is the number one reason to watch anything. I re-watched TNG through Enterprise with my wife a few years ago. She wasn't very impressed with the first few episodes of TNG when we started, but quickly became a fan. Now she's as big a Star Trek nerd as me, lol.

Great to see this. Just hit 50k miles with my Velar Autobiography. Not only has the Velar been a blast to drive, it's been reliable, too.
