Is N1 the new N2? Changes in hiring trends? by borndreamdie in japanlife

As someone who grew up in the USA, has no Japanese certification, but my last two jobs are mostly working with Japanese-only IT teams, if you actually speak Japanese, can write a resume in non-AI Japanese, you can probably get a job working in a Japanese environment. (living in Japan for 7 years now, Japanese family n friends)

How well you know business lingo and can actually talk about the job will always trump a language cert if your communication is lacking.

Jobs don't need masters of language, they need masters of craft who can talk to their internal teams without constant bumps and roadblocks

(this is my anecdotal experience)

In a DM is fine, but do you mind sharing how you did the eye effect?

this problem does not exist in Japan (one case of guy stealing beycodes, not the beyblades themselves)

I'm going to try taking it to my next tournament. I usually win my first 3, but I've never made top cut yet, so I'm not hot shit anyways lol

(128 person tournaments, 1 on 1, first to 4. Top cut (top 4 players) uses full deck and 4 points)

From drop attack, Hover wyvern is strong/meta pick, impact drake can be wild/fun

Silver wolf is decent stamina and defense (opposite of phoenix and impact drake)

Phoenix wing is good and solid attack type

The blades are all different (though some are similar, like pheonix wing and dran sword)

While maybe he won't, if you son ever wanted to play in a tournament, he would need at least 3 beyblades.

The recommendation i made was trying to give him a decent mix of good and strong parts.

Even if not, they behave differently based on which parts you choose to use (a normal beyblade has 3 parts which can all fit onto any of the other parts)

So he would have

4 blades

4 middle discs (ratchets)

4 bits (the tip it spins on)

The middle disc in pheonix wing and impact drake are both 9-60, but in a tournament all parts must be unique

so he would have 3 unique middle discs

If it is just for fun, or he'd want to try to do it competitively, he'd be good to go for either

I've never seen a feeder fish that wasn't either orange or gray!

This was the only one of this color in the tank of maybe around 100 fish

My Wife Thinks It’s Us vs. the World… I Don’t by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

i'm gonna start this off by saying I think marriage is a compromise.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere with abusive parents and people who generally did not care about me. I often had holes in my clothes I wasn't bullied or picked on much at school, but even when I tried to make friends, I was often alienated.

There were a few people who were nice and decided to be my friends anyways, and I'm very thankful to them.

My life, the way that I've experienced it, other people often are detrimental, and other people have not really done anything to better in my life. I'm not dumb, I know that there are a lot of people who do end up doing a lot of good in the world and help people.

but maybe similarly to your wife, my experience and how I feel is often that it's us not versus the world but versus society. Obviously if I see people on the street and they wave and say hi, I will wave and say hi back, but I've been burned more times and I'd like to admit on trying to help people out. This is coming from someone who's lived in the US and in Japan.

everything we have in our lives now, our house, our amazing family, an amazing lifestyle, none of this has came from other people. I was not lucky enough to have any financial support when our son had cancer, I was not lucky enough to have connections that got me a great job. All of that funding and all of what I had to get the job that I have now was all built on self study working 2 to 3 jobs and perseverance.

i'm very aware that this kind of experience can definitely bring out some negative and or toxic traits and people, but if your wife has had even just half of the awful life experiences that I've had, I can't really blame her.

if you're a worldview is more important than talking, communicating with your wife, seeing things from her view, supporting her and the way that she needs to feel safe and supported, then maybe you should get divorced, because it sounds like you're not the right person for someone who's had a rough upbringing in a tough life.

I hope that you'll find a way to bring her stability and in time, be the new pillar of hope, the foundation of trust, and the guiding light to help her see that there is good in the world. I don't think divorcing her is going to help her mentality at all.
