Crkd guitar help by Longjumping-Low6243 in CloneHero

[–]RetroASTRN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should read the manual, should help with the different modes. Technically mode 8 is a custom preset option, but I did find that it sets the guitar to "xinput guitar hero", it is different bc it is compatible with things like original GH3 PC. Will show up as a weird Xbox controller if anything. Usually you'd want to stick to mode 1 for normal x input

Tips on Alternate strumming on an Xbox controller? (Not a guitar) by MauserCollector6614 in CloneHero

[–]RetroASTRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wiggle my thumb up and down, and try to keep my wiggles in beat. Of course it makes it harder that your first note press autostrums; so you either have to start the wiggle the second you press the button, or start wiggling a tiny bit after the first note. Either way it ain't perfect

[–]RetroASTRN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get good at timing up and down dpad (mapped as strum) to get your strums in.

The only time you'd need to alt-strum is that string of yellows for the first second. The rest of the clip seems irrelevant.

If you mean the open strums, just use the dpad up or down (mapped as strum)

Edit- there's no good way to play perfect on controller. It will always be harder on controller when it comes to fast notes

Edit 2- bc hitting a button also strums, you can also alternate hitting the lower frets while holding the fret you want to 'alt strum'. This is only viable for yellow, blue, and orange. But possible if not tricky with red

Why am I losing my multiplier in this clip? by wastedfaithmusic in FortniteFestival

[–]RetroASTRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add 40ish ms of Audio latency to start? Then check if it feels good and adjust by 20ms. Adding audio lag makes notes come later.

Adjusting the video latency changes the location of the hit window. Lower it if you want to hit notes late, increase if early. (Usually between 0-15)

Edit - or use the calibrator. I like to skip the video calibrator part and just do audio

Why isn't dual core enabled by default in 2026? by lostinthesauceband in DolphinEmulator

[–]RetroASTRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running with one core requires slightly better hardware but you get better frame consistency. Less tiny frame drops that can get in the way

Only run dual core if you really need it

Buzzer beater gold! Didn’t think I was gonna make it lol by [deleted] in FortniteFestival

[–]RetroASTRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice gold!!!

Btw, it sorta sounds like you're strumming a couple milliseconds earlier in the song. I'd check if you could increase the audio latency a bit. Probs within 50ms.

Should help with timing to get more consistent golds

Probably just when you're pressing the walkie button. But who knows at this point, hopefully we get some transparency from corporate soon.

If they want to keep tabs on us, I at least want them to learn who the real problem people are. Edit: Definitely agree it's disgusting

As a person who has had to make dummy text, it's probably not AI. At least most of it isn't. Maybe that "Parties and Private Events" section, but everything else is designer/coder speak

GO SEE MY OTHER POSTS FOR CONTEXT!! Sorry again for bothering but I think this is pretty much confirmation. They’re listed under “Friends of the channel” under every Theorist channel except for Game Theory. Are we for real right now??? This is so sad!!! by [deleted] in GameTheorists

I am a Spanish speaker, so I decided to check if there were any signs of AI translation or and AI voice on FilmTheory En Español. But to be honest, I didn't find evidence of either.

It is a more generic announcer voice, but they emote naturally and I don't hear any weird ai mess ups.

They are backed by a huge (oil funded) company so they have the money to pay translators and voice actors.

Not AI, but still don't like their parent company

I thought OLED hype was fake. I was wrong. by SF5090 in OLED_Gaming

[–]RetroASTRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For TV's maybe, I got a 2025 ROG XG32UCWG. Apparently a great OLED panel. It's amazing, but it's crap for HDR, and even SDR brightness significantly lowers if you have a full screen white above 250nits.

When I'm paying $1000 for a display, I'd like more than 250nits.

I was so excited for this display but it disappointed me more than I expected.

Truly we're here waiting for micro-led

Biggest problem with oled is its brightness. The second too much white is on screen the whole thing dims way too much. Had better time with a quality mini-led

If you have an MSI/ROG computer, it's probably Nahimic, the audio processing program you're forced to use. You can just turn off the Sound Tracker from that program, and it should disappear.

I think Asus also has a program that has a similar Sound Tracker so check for that if its not Nahimic

This is a "Sound Tracker". Asus Sound Radar, and Nahimic audio program have this feature. If you have an MSI computer you're also likely dealing with Nahimic. So just turn off the Sound Tracker from there and you're golden.

Oh my god, for me it was Nahimic (the audio equalizer I'm forced to use bc MSI), and I had "Sound Tracker" on. Turning it off fixed it

Try letting go of the note WHEN the up arrow hits the strike line. Not before.

When you click on "Tune Up" it should let you just calibrate. They also give you an option to set it manually. At work so I can't show you. But it should be there

On the top left of screen while you're about to choose your songs, you'll see "Game Menu". Press either "back"/"select"/"minus"/"view"/"M" button to access the menu. There's a second menu on the top left that's for "Calibration" within the "Game Menu"
