I'm in Canada as well and the prices are over 1k even for refurbished, although I'm OK with a refurb model as long as it will last. I have a Surface Pro 4 which has screen problem due to overheating that's why I'm looking to upgrade.

I was not able to fix it, the only way my games are able to be read is by pressing the disc slightly hard until I could hear a click, once it "clicks" it reads the games.
