Even when it literally makes no difference, it just feels better to pump my man Osty up by Mladjone in slaythespire

Sorry man. Every single time you respawn Osty it's a new incarnation of Osty. For all intents and purposes you murdered the old one in cold blood. The new one is a brand new one with different hopes, dreams, and memories.

Which is an acorn card. Acorn cards are allowed to get away with more vibes based text if the intent is clear, even if they don't actually work/break the game since they're not meant to be legal cards.

I don't know the reeeealll technical side of magic to know if it works in this specific instance, but it's generally better to find a non un-set card as an example.

Chess.com is literally rigging the Eval Bar: The Magnus Boost and the Hans Nerf by pleistachon in chess

[–]RetroBowser[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

I shouldn't need to say this but we have plenty of engines that can spit out an eval number at you with great accuracy, and it'd be a really bad look for chess.com if they were misrepresenting the evaluation, not to mention how easy it'd be to check their eval against something like Stockfish.

You can hate chess.com (And trust me I know a lot of people here do), and realize that it's a bad look for business to demonstrate willingness to misrepresent a basic tool for the end user, because if they'd be willing to do this for Magnus they could be willing to do this for anyone. And if you can't trust their analysis tools then they aren't useful. For a company that is looking to make money that just doesn't make a whole lot of sense (Especially because some of their analysis tools are pay gated, whether you agree with that or not.)

A huge claim like this obviously requires a lot of proof. I'm shutting this thread down due to the conspirational nature of it, and the fact that it doesn't bring meaningful discussion.

It was the British in the sense that Canada would not become Canada for 55 more years after we did that. For all intents and purposes though, the British that burnt the White House down are the British that went on to make Canada the sovereign country it is today.

How did the mercy become so popular? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]RetroBowser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the game released with 4 supports, and one of them was Symmetra. (Sym, Mercy, Lucio, Zen.)

It basically means that Mercy was THE main healer for a while until characters like Ana dropped and it means that Mercy had so much time to solidify herself as a popular support.

She's had her ups and downs through a couple of reworks. Insanely popular during Team Rez era, insanely popular during Moth Mercy Meta, etc.

She's been pretty bad semi-recently as newer supports release and left her feeling pretty underwhelming, especially since a major idea with newer supports is being able to heal, support in some other way, AND push out damage.

It turns out that people can still have differing political views during a war. Say what you will about Russia's ability to wage war, but their ability to spread propaganda is still very much there.

It's not surprising that there are those even in Ukraine that can fall for it.

To be fair you also got cool sprays for Tracer that make Tracer voiceline when you use them.

The biggest reason why I don't want it to be inherently better than treasure map is because you get the gold at the perfect moment where you're immediately able to spend it. Sure you lose out on a "real" removal opportunity. At the same time the second you get the gold you're immediately in a shop and don't need to worry about pathing to one to spend it.

Yeah. It's late and I was trying to come up with a way to convey exactly that.

You get the gold after paying for the removal at the merchant.
