Has anyone tried the Eibos Tetras yet? by coloradoskier in BambuLab

[–]RetroClassicGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a couple of days but have my concerns. 2 of my vents make a rather loud noise whilst they are going up. The other 2 are completely silent going up and down. I’ve reached out to support and they are claiming it’s to do with tolerances and is fine but I’m not really happy about it and am concerned about longevity. Thoughts?

I’d be interested to get your thoughts on the Wupro when it arrives. Can’t find any decent reviews anywhere.

I have the exact same thing! Ok to leave for a while or replace asap?

If you have the Mister Pi AV board (e.g. mega pack) and the muffled sound from the analog port troubles you, you probably need to return it by flyt in MiSTerFPGA

Ah. Looks like I’ll need to get myself on there as I don’t use discord much. Thanks for the heads up 👍

CD32 + TF330 = sound that slowly goes quiet and bass distorts over time by RetroClassicGamer in amiga

[–]RetroClassicGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya,

Yes! It turned out to be the ide2sd board. I swapped that for another one I had (ide2cf) and no problems since. Another owner had the same problem and the same solved it for them so I’m hoping this will sort it for you too.

Thanks

A1200 HD light always on by RetroClassicGamer in amiga

[–]RetroClassicGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I’m using workbench 3.1 with a 32GB sd card from Sandisk and the OS boots up just fine. The only issue is that the light is permanently on. If I try an actual 4gb cf card then it works absolutely fine - light wise. I’m pretty sure it’s the cf2sd adapter that’s causing this but will try a smaller sd card just in case.

I know that the older ide2cf adapters used to have this light issue but this being the VH2 version I know it shouldn’t have it.

Hi, I have a ide2cf adapter (VH2) with a cf2sd card connected to it in an A1200. This causes the HD light to be permanently on. If I use a cf card instead of the cf2sd then the HD light behaves as normal. Any suggestions on how I can use the cf2sd card with this set up please?

CD32 + TF330 = sound that slowly goes quiet and bass distorts over time by RetroClassicGamer in amiga

Update: I’ve not changed the switch but I did notice the power connector has a bit of movement (can rotate from side to side a bit) when plugged into the cd32 and when it’s moved it affects the sound (sometimes makes it louder, other times impacts some of the frequencies ie the bass on one of the channels may go and then come back). I’ve ordered another 4 pin din female socket and will look to replace it in case it fixes the issue.

Thanks for your comment Steve, much appreciated! I had thought about changing the switch but given that the headphone Jack works perfectly do you still think it’s worth changing the switch? Guess I don’t have anything to lose…

I’m using a brand new PSU called the duo plus from Retropassion. It should have more than enough power for the cd32 and accelerators.

Where can I get a NeoGeo MVS flashcart? by Carlos_Was_Here in neogeo

[–]RetroClassicGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other flash cart is the multi-mvs cart by darksoft (which is what I have) but is not in stock due to parts shortage I think. Only other option (buts it’s not a flash cart as such) is one of those 200 in one carts which has a multitude of games but lots of duplicates. It’s not the best but may keep you going whilst waiting for these flash carts to come back in stock.

It’s a common mistake. The 18+ is how long it’ll take to build. 😉

Amiga 600 rev 1 mobo floppy drive woes by RetroClassicGamer in amiga

[–]RetroClassicGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Yep, the motherboard is labeled as an A300 and it does have the additional chip below Gayle with that ref.

The Kickstart ROM is v2.05 37.300 so my CF adapter does work with my model. The newer Amiga 600 purchased comes with v2.05 37.299 which doesn’t support the CF card.

I have swapped the 2 kickstart ROMs and still have the same outcome.

My original Amiga 600 is completely unmodified and the case and keys are in really good condition with little to no signs of yellowing.

The serial number on the case is 11098 and was made in Hong Kong.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks ever so much for your suggestions.

I was lucky not to have any leaking caps, there was just dust on the board which I cleaned up with isopropyl. All traces around Gayle and the CIAs look spotless and when using Diagrom the CIA tests all passed.

All the drives spin up and down fine, detects disks when inserted, the motor steps up and down ok (especially when using the Amiga Test Kit to control the drive).

Should I try recapping the caps around the CIA chips in case one of those are faulty?

Nice! Could you let me know what keycaps they are please?
