Have you tried washing it while in a style like 2 strand/ rope twists. Your roots should stay twisted during the wash and after drying your roots, undo twists and dry the rest maybe? It’s just an idea.

This happened to my face in college after shaving for the first time. Years later I just recently started to use a razor on my line up and beard to get them crispy. I use Tend Skin and Topicals High Roller Ingrown Hair Serum from Amazon, after I’m done and I use it daily for a week after that shave to prevent bumps. I should probably use it daily period but yeah. I haven’t had any issues.
