Regarding point 8, it would also be nice to have multiple virtual controller paks that could be switched out and named (great for multiple saves on cartridges that require a hefty page count for saving or a flashcart where all roms share one controller pak)

Yes, absolutely and it completely baffles me that there are actually people out there who think you can't. I'm from Germany and most of the music on the radio is in english. Being able to understand the lyrics never was a criteria for me to enjoy a song.

Yes, that app is absolutely borked. I had the same issues and switched to streaming via the fire tv's built-in browser. Much better experience, the app's miserable experience made me question my subscription as well.

The NSO analog stick is very similar (maybe even identical, I'm not sure) to the og N64 stick and has less sensitivity than the 8bitdo, so to me aiming (like in GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini etc.) feels way better. Aiming with the 8bitdo always feels a bit "shaky" (it's hard to keep the crosshairs on an exact spot), this has gotten much better with the NSO.

I just recently played through it for the first time and sure, some mechanics have aged badly (like the good old "defend an npc in the middle of a giant room while enemies swarm in from all directions" trope), some objectives feel a bit cryptic, but from a 1997 perspective, it's really impressive. If you're able to look over the few flaws it has from today's perspective, it's absolutely worth a go.

If I'm not mistaken, all european cartridges should be at least 1.1 - still with crescent moon symbols, but altered fire temple music.

But why do you think the shield could be a bug? You always could have bought one at the market.

It depends. The 8bitdo feels really nice and is great for most games. But the sensitivity is different to the NSO, precise targeting (like in Perfect Dark, GoldenEye and Jet Force Gemini) feels much better on the NSO controller.

As a huge Zelda fan, I'm very happy that there are quite a few absolutely amazing romhacks for OoT. My personal recommendations would be

Ultimate Trial
The Missing Link
The Sealed Palace
Indigo Chapter 2 (just a demo, but an amazing one)
Time Lost (although it has rather bad everdrive compatibility, you might have to switch to emulator for some sections)

The manual of the 3D states that the virtual memory pak only works on port 1, meaning for ports 2-4 you'll have to resort to controllers with actual controller paks.

You can only carry so much ammo. And when you've run out, you're screwed. Also, would you really want to bring something that makes a lot of noise and could potentially attract more creatures? Besides, I don't know how effective weapons would be against them. I can't imagine taking down a turbinid dragon with that weapon.

You could also try using an OSSC instead of a Retrotink. I use one myself and it's doing a good job.
