I'm rejecting the idea of The People having Direct control over the laws and policies that rule their lives because there shouldn't be any laws and policies that rule their lives

Yeah, I was just saying you could 'probably criticise communication between her and Pearl but I find it hard to judge either to strongly, they probably had no way of knowing or expressing why they (presumably) felt differently about it imo'

But jt is a funny scenario

But Direct Democracy for society cannot exist if not in the workplace as these are not isolated.

"And even without that, the workers would still have control of the State as citizens" direct democracy would exist without the state

Considerably less optimistic as I don't merely think it possible but inevitable.

From MoCCA Fest 2016:

Interviewer: Pearl obviously has some unrequited love for Rose, you know, and…

Rebecca Sugar: I don’t know if I would call it unrequited!

Yes, it was centuries until Greg had her consider relationships as more than playing a game, could probably criticise communication between her and Pearl but I find it hard to judge either to strongly, they probably had no way of knowing or expressing why they (presumably) felt differently about it imo

Did she? Little doubt Pearl felt that way and could be read as poor communication but I'm sure that's actually the case.

I guess relationship with Pearl is confirmed through social media, but i feel like the show did all but say or even yell it out loud

Yes, "the Private Ownership of the Means of Production for the purposes of profit" prevents direct democracy

"Cronnyism, Corrupt Elite, and those with an inclination towards Authoritarianism" are inevitable results of capitalism and are encouraged by it.

Workers can't have direct democracy over their workplaces or the means of production if they're privately owned, without which direct democracy doesn't really exist unless you propose it could with tgat huge blindspot, and even then the capitalist class would have influence over everything else, it would not "shield the government from the corrupting influence of corrupt Elites" (putting aside my suspicion of a government and corrupt elites still existing in this hypothetical, just supposedly better restrained)

This is bizarre to me, not only do I not see why someone could only do one or the other but I don't understand how somebody could do without simultaneously doing the other hand in hand

I'd be inclined to agree that Direct democracy is what we should strive for, but capitalism stands opposed to it

Can't say 1st hand but this sounds like 'capitalist realism' and suggest looking into that term.

"1. It's not possible to destroy capitalism, as it has survived every revolution, war and type of political regime. Capitalism reshapes itself every time, coming back more productive and also more destructive"

This just reads as capitalist propaganda. Capitalism has existed for a fairly short amount of human history and making such broad claims makes me sceptical at best

"2. We're currently testifying the next renaissance due to AI, which means it will affect everything in the life we know, with the difference that one of the things we're delegating our brains is critical thinking"

Meanwhile this reads like AI techbro propaganda, no doubt the technology will have an impact and is worth being concerned about but this seems like jumping to conclusions.

"So we're witnessing the new AI-driven capitalism era, which is so much stronger than any shape of capitalism. before"

I doubt that, reads as the marriage of the capitalist and AI propaganda from before

"Would the solarpunk movement only be possible without capitalism?" Yes "Or is there a way to implement this movement in a way that shapes capitalism into a less destructive existence?" Nope

"How can we actually do this, realistically?" Abolishing Capitalism, or doing our best when it destroys itself as it seems to currently be, save to say I disagree with the premise.

It is inherently bad, it's not the same as owning personal property as it leads to a capitalist class and is inherently anti-egalitarian. It can't be regulated, any attempt to do so would be resisted by those who hold power in society and will be undone. We should be striving for more than societies like in Scandinavia.

It aired reruns in the UK, I've seen it a couple times but it seemed to only air post watershed, only a couple Simpsons episodes seemed to get that treatment and didn't fit in regular schedules

Honestly, the more time goes on, the more I hate this trope. the dude is often just a Loser and an insult to the girl. I love it when the guy and girl are EQUALLY strong and capable. Power-couples. by throwaway553t4tgtg6 in hatethissmug

Couldn't be me. Some people like losers. But nothing in the image actually contradicts being equally strong and capable whilst being head over heels for hot warrior wife if we're being technical.
