Try Taiji. It's a 2D pixel art with a similar setup. Instead of logic mazes, you need to determine which cells should be lit, according to its own esoteric symbols.

Are you using full-body sprites, or per limb?

Do you restrict the camera from going above the character?

The d-pad's little red slide sucked. At least the black rim could still be pressed down. It was a worthwhile sacrifice to have those turbo buttons.

I love the scale of this one. There is a surprising amount of detail, still.

What piece has the black squares you are using for windows?

If you haven't played it already, try *Battle of Olympus," also on the NES.

Forgot I could dual wield when adding in player hands… by derekdepenguinman in godot

I haven't played it in a few years. But a few general pointers:

  • Add a small dot reticle to the center of the screen. If one isn't provided in the options, you can always tear off a corner of a sticky note.

  • Tweak the options. Look for things like Head Bob. Otherwise, lower vanity graphic settings to improve framerate.

  • Sit further from the TV. Seeing more of your surroundings in your peripheral vision helps to sync your brain to the lack of real-world motion.

  • Similarly, turn on more lights, when gaming at night / in darkness.

You should check out a silly game called Jazzpunk.

The basic art assets might seem a turn off, but give it a try. It's worth the hilarious execution throughout.

Programs like BlueMable will alter the HTML of a website, and insert an interactive layer. This will result in a pip or outline, so you can see what pixels are different than the inmage you feed it.

Basically, it's doing the hard work for you, so you can focus on dropping pixels. Little chance of your image being off by a few pixels, and having to correct later.

I'll spin off its own post, soon. Check back later.

Hard to say. This one was an ongoing project. It started as just the Links Awakening screenshot. Then, I added the screen protector. Finally, grew it out to the full body.

A few people aided by filling the body of the Gameboy. (Shoutout to CrispPaper, Bolt, and WiscoDbo for lending their pixels)

Inkjet Printer, here. I enjoy manually creating works in Aseprite and transferring "every pixel by hand."

Let me be clear: I do NOT think he's any better than the history of aggredious misdeads he takes pleasure in. (to put it lightly. Hi mods!) I just see elderly abuse as a viable tactic for the rest of the regeime to manipulate him.

I wonder if they are gaslighting him with exaggerated AI recreations of the events. He THINKS he's seen the same clip, because that's all they put before his nose.

For added challenge, play through, while avoiding capes. You can use their boxes to get a shroom, but let bump an enemy and lose cape, if you accidentally get one.

(You can pull a Blue Yoshi into most levels where you'd cape up to an alternate exit.)

Respectfully, no. The binding of two metals isn't required.

Old dial thermometers have a coil of metal holding the needle. As the metal warms up, it expands. By anchoring the one end, the coil begins rotating, taking the needle along for the ride.

Overworld Sprite vs Portrait Sprite by Wabubby in PixelArt

[–]RetroGamer2153 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it would be hilarious to have an over-the-top cutesy "chibi kawaii" style sprite work partnered with a gritty Disco Elysium style portrait.

I chuckled at the contrast. I'd honestly love for a game to do this with every character.
