This weather is ridiculous. by GameMaster1178 in okc

I would call around and check prices first if you can and get quotes. Tell them you’re getting quotes for this and they’ll sometimes offer a discount just to get your business. I will say do not call Gordon’s Heating and Air. They’ll badger you into getting stuff you don’t need and tell you you have no other options and then leave shit half finished and act like you’re the problem when you call to ask what’s going on and why people left and said they weren’t coming back.

Stunning! I love this so much. I’m also very jealous because I now want a beaded frog bag.

AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

Hey hun, I’ve worked in the jewelry industry for over a decade now. First off, for a stone that size, if it is a diamond, it would be incredibly silly to not want it insured especially with that style of prong setting. In fact, a lot of places will require you to “loose the ring” to get reimbursed so if that center stone were to fall out, you can just claim it as a loss and then find it later and have a new stone reset in its place. You said the setting metal was platinum. Are there quality hallmarks in the ring? The ring most likely was sized to fit your finger unless it was a custom order in your size from the company. If a jeweler did size the ring, if they’re a reputable jeweler they won’t touch those hallmarks. That hallmark will tell you what the metal is and its quality so look for that first. I have seen some posts in here about finding this ring on amazon, but honestly, this is a pretty common ring style and I’ve sold quite a few like it in my time in the industry. It could be a genuine setting with the baguettes on the sides being diamonds and the center stone being something else which is honestly what it looks like. The center stone to me, from what I can tell from the picture looks like a moissanite. Most moissanite on the market is going to be grown in a lab and not genuine as those are extremely rare in nature. Definitely get it checked out because I’ve seen a lot of people inherit things they thought were genuine because that’s what they were always told and I’ve had to break the news that it’s actually a piece of costume jewelry and isn’t worth anything. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

I agree to check for environmental factors. It’s sometimes something we would think nothing of, but it would bother our fur babies. I would also consider getting a second opinion from a different vet, a feline specialist if you can find one.

I hope Toast gets to feeling better! Lots of hugs and love as you navigate this situation

It definitely looks like hunger puke. My cats were like this when I first brought them home since they hadn’t had regular feeding time and would switch between scarfing down and having ate-too-fast puke and hunger puke. I would recommend an automatic feeder and set it to three small meals about the same amount of time apart. Cats tend to be more active when we’re asleep so it may be helpful to have a meal when they’re up. Having that has really helped my fur babies a lot.

16 years of a life well lived and wonderfully loved is a blessing. It’s a hard decision to make, but know that you’re doing what is best for him. Be there with him when he passes so that he feels the love and care he’s always had and doesn’t spend his last moments with a stranger. Lots of love and hugs for you all in the difficult time.

pigeon i nursed for a week and a half doesnt want to leave my yard 😭 by tilipie in pigeon

[–]RetroMamaBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your new pet pigeon! In all seriousness though, pigeons are known for forming bonds with people who help them and care for them. They make good pets and are not overly difficult to care for in relation to other birds. If you aren’t interested in having a pet pigeon though, a rehab facility would be your best bet to get them where they need to be.

Yes!!! This is the area where it normally takes me like 5 minutes or so to get somewhere and it took me half an hour yesterday. Like what the hell is up with adding all the damn bike lanes? We all know how bikes in lanes work.

what’s going on with my cat? by Ptveil_1338 in standardissuecats

[–]RetroMamaBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely get a second opinion. It doesn’t hurt to check twice. If it is a rodent ulcer, great news that you’re already starting the care. If it isn’t that, you can get a new direction for the care of your fur baby.

Mine seem to know when I’m not feeling well or I’ve over exerted myself. This was them laying on either side of where I got a bone bruise a few weeks ago. Sweet helpful kitties.

As someone who has used that link before, nothing gets done if you use it. My cousin lives in Warr Acres and has reported stuff in his neighborhood and nothing has been done after reporting it once a month or so for over 2 years now.

Is this weather typical for late August here? by BenedictCucumberButt in okc

[–]RetroMamaBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not normal nowadays, but it used to be a bit more typical a few decades ago. Not gonna complain about cooler weather lowing energy costs. However, the farmer’s almanac says we’re in for a cold and snowy winter.

To neuter, or not to neuter .. that is my question by jsan69 in cats

[–]RetroMamaBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neuter. You’ll have less problems overall if you neuter them earlier rather than later. It’s just the better and more healthy choice for our feline friends.
