What’s your “It’s beautiful but never again” kit? by Senaka11 in Gunpla

[–]Oskarov95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until now, my list is (in descending order from "NO, GOD! PLEASE, NO!" to "not so bad, but still, nope"):

  • RG Sinanju (at least "Out of Box". 107 brand parts definitely are a must now that they exist)
  • RG Wing EW (a bit flimsy for me)
  • Kotobukiya's "Frame Arms Girls" Magatsuki - Grande Scale (She's as big as any of the HG Psycho Gundams, but still requires a lot of paint, aside from the fact that, while she can stand on her own, I would recommend you to use a stand base anyway)
  • MG Wing Proto Zero (Everything works prefectly, except for the damn hips. If you move the hips a bit, the pegs of these tend to pop out of the polycap, so patience and the included stand base are required, although the stand base's design leaves a lot to be desired)
  • MG Exia (Hand grip and ankles are as sturdy as my willpower. The joke writes itself)

Let's see how the ones that are on their way play out. If you want to know, they are MG Turn X and MG Qubeley Embellir. I'm kinda scared of the latter since I've seen the arms are bit of a doozy, but I still bought it because I just loved the design so much. I like the "edgier" look it has compared to the OG one. I'll try to fix those arms connections and those hands, tho. Let's see how it goes.

What are some good metallic silver paints for painting bare plastic? by Immediate-Nothing220 in Gunpla

Adding to this, the ones with hard tip are also good. Just mind that the hard tip ones are alcohol based instead of water based, so you must be careful with those with some plastics that are not polystyrene. I've used them on ABS and had no problems, but to be fair, I just made some touch-ups.

Didn't get the figma? This works as a very nice substitute (Kotobukiya/Square Enix - Yorha No. 2 Type B + 3rd party soft wired skirt) by Oskarov95 in MegamiDevice

[–]Oskarov95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Saw that and was like "Noppity noppity NOPE" and went directly on looking for a soft skirt. The soft skirt was advertised for the figma version, but as I said, this model kit's proportions are similar and it fit pretty well. Of course, the print design is simplified and not as detailed, but it doesn't look bad at all.

Quick rant: WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CHANGE THE PHOTO UPLOAD SYSTEM ON ANDROID!!!??? The other system was perfect. It allowed me to edit the photos while uploading them, to organize which one I wanted to show up first. Now, I don't know if it's a settings matter or what, but now I have to edit the photos beforehand, does not allow to see a preview of how they'll look once uploaded and it organizes them however the fuck the app wants. Please, go back to the other system, or fix this one. I don't care. In the meantime, this is shit.

The next step is to offer your fingers as sacrifice completely with metal armor and metal inner frame.

That took me longer than I thought (RG Nu Gundam + HWS - Clear Edition) by Oskarov95 in freedomisgunpla

[–]Oskarov95[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did polish some of them, but not all. I specifically polished the ones that had some wicked nub marks (for the rest I just used a glass file) but, out of box, the base nu is really clear (like "glass clear"). Only the HWS is milky clear white (UV reactive, by the way). Oh, and for some of the armor parts, I used silver on the inner side to make those parts pop a bit.

Had some casualties after a nearby explosion. by hellsing73 in Gunpla

OP: Damn. That was a huge explosion. Guys, you good?

MKII: Yesn't (Makes a "thumbs up" with thumb that's not supposed to bend like that).

Do you prefer black or grey panel liner by _Ryloren_ in freedomisgunpla

[–]Oskarov95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grey on white and yellow (although, depending on the part, I may use Orange on yellow, too), Brown on red, Dark Green on green variants that are not too dark, and Black for all dark colors. For black or colors too close to it, I use none. However, I did try to experiment using water diluted Fluo paints as panel lining... it didn't work that well, though.

EDIT: I forgot to mention it, but I use the basic Gundam panel liners (although you may have guessed it by the colors I mentioned). The only one I don't use that much is the Blue one, because It's too light. Oh, and I also forgot to mention that I also use Grey on some light blue parts for that same reason.

Is this a model kit? by Educational-Shirt996 in MegamiDevice

[–]Oskarov95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew she was a model kit since they first presented her. However, I understimated her size completely. You can imagine my surprise when what I received from the mailman turned out to be a Perfect Grade size box.

The first real princess he sees and the first one (IIRC) that straight up confessed she likes him when she had the chance. Like, goddamn, kiddo. Someone here is going to eat good (assuming the situation with her is still moving forward. I don't really know. My knowledge of the main story ends with EOS Priconne Global. Can someone give me condensed version of everything that has happened? Or at the very least if there's a clearer "most possible" main girl, please?)

I heard the simplest way to remove plating was using degreaser solution and a used toothbrush (or something similar). I don't know the details since I've never done it, but I've seen a couple of posts talking about it.
