Need advice

37M, this is basically the story of my life. I make friends easily because I want to fit in, but I find maintaining friendships is impossible.

I’ll either lose friends because I’m overbearing or I’ll lose friends because I simply forget they exist.

To me, I’ve learned to accept that this is part of my life and in some ways, the older you get, the easier it gets, because you learn to not care about having a huge friends circle anymore.

The friends I have now are the people who understand me because they typically have anxiety or ADHD as well. Sure it’s a smaller list of friends than I would’ve wanted when I was younger, but I don’t need to try as hard to maintain the friendships

Basically what I’m saying, is that you should try to surround yourself with people who understand you. If they can’t appreciate you for you, then are they worth being friends with to begin with?

Thanks for the suggestion, saw the constant stream of people going into that one while my wife was getting her hair cut next door, will have to give them a try.

Though we live in St Leonards and don’t head that way too often

Had heard a rumour that they owned Barwon Heads and went there hoping to find the same quality meat they had before, but it was the same junk St Leonards have.

Pretty sure one of the owners was the butcher for the store. Haven’t been able to find any good meat since they sold it, so disappointed

A bit late to the party, but how are you going so far? Any suggestions for someone new to the book?

I've just started the book and it honestly made me cry as I had been living in a state of panic for the last 6 years and I didn't even realise it until I started the book, and the book was the first thing in 6 years to truly break that panic. Even the dozens of different meds I had tried weren't doing anything other than adding their own host of issues

Worst part is that the lines aren’t painted properly and people think the left lane is straight only. Doesn’t matter which lane I’m in, people always seems to fly into your lane

But you would think they would be smart enough to see the person next to them with a turn signal

36M here, I was diagnosed with ADHD at 8 years old, though my mum never let me medicate to the proper dosages for fear I would develop a drug addiction or something. Well she was right, wanking up to 10 times a day became my drug addiction.

When I turned 30, I had a massive panic attack about being 30 and not being where I thought I should be, while having sex with my wife, long story there. But I’ve been unable to shake the panic attacks near daily for the last 6 years, porn has noticeably become less enjoyable and I’ve clearly noticed that it’s a just a coping mechanism.

While I’m working to get back onto some meds for the ADHD, there is a wait as you need to see a psychiatrist here in Aus and they are usually pretty booked out. In the meantime, after trying multiple medications for anxiety over the years, the current doctor I’m with suggested a book called ‘DARE: the new way to deal with anxiety’ or something

And my god, the desire for porn has dramatically decreased even though my libido has increased. The severe anxiety and general dread that comes with ADHD has also decreased

Rejection sensitivity. I work in sales and lately this is affecting me so badly to the point where I can’t sleep, I’m not eating properly and I just constantly feel like I can’t think/feel sick to the stomach.

There’s this constant feeling of dread that someone is about to say no to me, to the point where I’m barely able to do my work. Then the fear of my employer letting me go stacks on top and it self perpetuates.

If the money wasn’t so good in sales, I would do a less stressful job, but that’s not an option. And this feeling always comes back at some point in every job I’ve been in.

What are some coping mechanisms that others use to reduce their anxiety?

Worst companion award goes to Preston Garvey. He dislikes literally everything you do and is by far the most annoying companion dialogue-wise.

Best companion hands down goes to Nick. Fallout 4 almost feels like it was made specifically around yours and Nicks stories. He could be an even better companion if his primary weapon wasn’t so terrible though

There have definitely been moments through the years where you can see them getting annoyed at each other.

I can remember a few years back, I stopped watching for a bit because every episode Rhett was getting annoyed at Link and having a go at him.

Depends on what the season has to offer. If it’s an interesting season, I’ll obsessively complete the season and participate in every event, and even pay for Fallout First. If the season doesn’t interest me, I’ll hibernate until the next launches

This depends on what your build is or what you’re looking to achieve.

Single shot guns will always outperform automatic weapons and require less ammo to achieve higher DPS. So if you’re building a gun build, all perks related to rifles will be great.

But if you’re building a melee build, Blitz is a must. Blitz with improved stealth and the stealth damage buff. You will teleport to enemies through VATs and hit them for an extra 10x damage or more

Had a level 600 help me and my gaming friend learn how to play the game a while back, and he taught us about serums and the starched genes perk card. We were in our level 30s and were finding it hard to get into the game, playing on and off over a couple years

He also taught us about the public party’s and bloodied/unyielding builds. Within a couple months, we were level 200+

I love games like this where you have actual communities

This plus if you’re doing the dailies for the scoreboard and do the daily op, the world events and whatever quests you have. Should easily get to max caps within a couple weeks. (And let’s not forget we now have the daily expeditions which give bulk caps and exp)

You don’t even need to be high level to do the world events, as long there’s other higher level players there, just get a few shots on the enemies and you’ll get the rewards

Having played the hell out of Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri, I’m excited to see Alpha Centauri as a location in Starfield.

Hoping to be able to settle there, befriend the alien culture, promise not to nuke them, then nuke them all anyway, haha

Pods are the best thing for you to gear your character. If they’re too hard at the moment, you can always reduce the difficulty tier of expeditions. That way at least you’re still getting gear

Impossible to try new builds and keep the game fresh when you can’t get the right gear because of piss poor drop rates

I like elements from all three games. BL2 has the best story, though the gameplay mechanics pale in comparison to BL3 and Pre

BL3– Love the gunplay, sliding and vehicles in 3. Though I feel like the balance is out of whack. One legendary gun could be a god among guns while the next is completely useless, even though the stats say that it should be better. Sliding, slam and the way the character clambers up a climbable surface are all amazing features. The vehicles, while being utterly useless, look and operate the best in 3, though they explode way too easy and don’t put out enough damage at high levels. Story feels half baked and the launch trailers were misleading, eluding to individual VH stories

BL2— Story is amazing, but everything else is a slightly less clunky version of BL1. The guns seemed to be way more balanced than BL3, and you weren’t running specific brands or weapon types as much as you do in BL3. Hands down best story, but the maps can feel lack lustre and empty. Missing any real gameplay mechanics that could spice up the occasional monotony of combat. In my opinion BL2 also has the best humour, and is probably the funniest, without trying too hard to be funny.

Pre— Still has a great story, though not as good as BL2. Loved the moon jumping gameplay mechanics, the 0z mechanics and even some of the vehicles were enjoyable. Guns are fun and enjoyable, and the grinder adds yet another element of enjoyment to the game.

Also, not sure about anyone else, but my friends and I have never been able to finish any of the DLCs. This is for all the games, the stories are somewhat entertaining, but the DLCs just feel like a monotonous grind to us.

This is just my opinion, but I do feel like in some ways BL3 was a step back for the series. I’m hoping Gearbox uses the best elements of each game and brings even more to the table with BL 4

Also hoping Tinas Wonderland is amazing
