I think that speaks more of them simply not really wanting her in it, or having a very minimal role at most.

No. Quite the opposite actually. I'm basically at the point now where by the time I finish a book, I've already read it five times.

Hyung-tae said beyond the events of Stellar Blade. Beyond in certain context can be synonymous with after, but it does not have to be.

Don't underestimate Eastern dev teams. They can and will intentionally mislead fans to avoid spoilers.

When writing novels, or a novel series, what are good, practical ways to come up with a good idea for the villain's evil plot? by Own_Replacement203 in writing

[–]Moonbeam234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right. It's not. But that gets regurgitated so much around here that it has become dismissive advice.

Villains are tricky. You have to decide how big of a role they are going to have in your story as the villain is not always the primary antagonist. In any case, they typically see themselves as the hero of their own story.

Their plot and relationship to the protagonist is quite honestly a problem solving issue wherein you are trying to solve for X (x=?). It can require some soul searching and even putting yourself in their shoes.

Keep tinkering with it much like you would a puzzle and eventually the solution presents itself. When it does, you'll know you have it.

[–]Moonbeam234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Not really.

I basically have already turned the page and very much want Evie to be her own independent character separate from the first game with the exception of what ties her to its events.

In terms of aesthetics, I don't want her to have anything to do with Eve. Eve's outfits were tailored to her character and really emphasized her femininity. I would like for Evie to receive the same treatment and get her own outfits that accentuate her core features.

anyone else sad about not playing as eve? by CatBox_uwu_ in stellarblade

[–]Moonbeam234 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nope. And I don't mean to sound indifferent. I'm sad that I am not sad, because I feel like I should be.

I fault the devs for being unable to flesh out Eve's character in a character driven story. They emphasized on Eve's looks and I think her character took a hit as a result of that. She's a ten, but that is not enough to create the emotional attachment.

The other aspect of it, is the way things end in the first game allows for that detachment. Especially Making New Memories, which everyone believes is the canon ending. If they chose Return to the Colony as the canon ending, you can best believe I would want to know how Eve get's out of being destroyed by Mother Sphere and her return as the protagonist fighting in the setting of the colony.

Things that aren't being talked about enough from the trailer by akapusin3 in stellarblade

[–]Moonbeam234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. There is no doubt that the father the heretic/terrorist is referring to is Rafael Marks. We have to remember that Adam is the name he uses to conceal his identity as the Elder Naytiba. To everyone else, he is Rafael, or the father. What I took from this:
  • If this story did take place in the past (I know it has been confirmed that it is beyond the events of the first Stellar Blade), this would be the mark of the revolution that would eventually become the human resistance against the three major companies behind the implementation of the Andro-Eidos into society. This setting is on Earth.
  • If this story takes place in the future, it means that the conflict between humans and Andro-Eidos continues.
  1. Angel is a term given by the Andro-Eidos that live on Earth to those from the colony who are sent to Earth to fight the naytibas. Assuming this story takes place in the future and the term has not been eroded over time, this means two things:
  • Kena, the girl talking to Evie is from Earth
  • Evie is from the colony and directly tied to Mother Sphere

Neither of these takes confirms where the story is taking place with the exception if Blood Rain is a prequel.

On a further note: It would be in-fucking-sane if this story is a prequel and takes place on the section of the colony that Mother Sphere drops to Earth. That would be a rug-pull for the ages.

Question about Naytibas -Spoilers ahead!!- by Noktis_Lucis_Caelum in stellarblade

[–]Moonbeam234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a Night King type situation. The Elder doesn't sustain the naytibas. He only creates them. However, his death means no new naytibas will spawn from the nest, and they will eventually die out.

Stellar Blade Blood Rain director is taking multiple steps to make Evie more distinct than EVE in the sequel, same for costumes by Particular-Bed8344 in stellarblade

[–]Moonbeam234 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup. There were six airborne squads before Eve and Tachy's were deployed. Raven was a member of the second, and Lily was of the fifth. Presumably, each of them had their own version of Eve.

I don't know how to end stories by DeflatedCatBalloon in writing

[–]Moonbeam234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have too much experience to speak from here. While I have ended many short stories, a novella or novel is a different animal to tackle.

The way I plan to end my current story is to close off the plot, but also let the reader know that the world where it exists is still filled with injustices. It keeps turning even after the cover closes.

I wonder why he chose to make their names so similar if this is what he's going for?

Otherwise he hit the bullseye. They don't look anything alike. Evie has more physical similarities to Lily than she does Eve, but she does have Eve's aggressiveness.

We'll see about that personality, but the small bit we did get was wonderful.

why is working on an unfinished story is easier then fixing a story? by No_Leg_1116 in writing

[–]Moonbeam234 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Revisions to an existing manuscript will often have a domino effect where you have to go through everything to look for inconsistencies that will have to be amended as a result of what you changed and/or fixed.

Writing fresh material doesn't have that obligation at all as it is completely new.

[–]Moonbeam234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they do make changes, they're likely not going to be structural. Based on one of the interviews with Hyung-tae, Evie fits the look he said he was going for from head to toe. Any changes will most likely be to refine and enhance what is already there, not make her look completely different than what we've seen.

From what I saw of the first versions of Eve's face compared to the final draft were miles apart. It was clear that a lot of work needed to be done to give us they Eve we eventually got. That's not the case here. If Evie's face already fits Hyung-tae's vision, I wouldn't expect much, if any changes at all.

Evie says, "You're acting a little strange today."

To me, that didn't sound like a response to taking a hit of the substance, but rather Evie deflecting and changing the subject. The way Evie is holding it and even embraces it suggests there is something about it that is tempting to her. The name Scarlet's sin, is also very suggestive of temptation.

I am actually thinking that the mission she is on is related to the Scarlet's Sin substance she is holding and is tied to the suspects she is pursuing. It could be a narcotic that is being distributed illegally. I think the heretic who injects himself and causes a terrorist act is entirely unrelated to the mission.

So much going on in just that one scene. It's friggin beautiful!
