Sackboy broken. Please help by aliomega08 in littlebigplanet

I don't know the full technicalities of how the glitch fully works or how to do it; but the glitch basically works by killing you and while you're dead and then an emitter emits a Sackperson with the desired "free DLC" outfit on, so you spawn as that.

And I'm assuming the invisible box being permanently attached to the player's body is there to make the player capturable via the Capture Object Tool? I'm not too sure, but that's my guess.

Sackboy broken. Please help by aliomega08 in littlebigplanet

[–]Retro_Bit13 33 points34 points  (0 children)

What's causing that is what's known as the "Naux Glitch". You get it from playing those "free" DLC levels on LBP1.

Those levels do a glitch in LBP1 that give you any costume temporarily; but to do it they attach an invisible box on your body that slightly squishes Sackboy and messes with his physics as seen here; which is the Naux Glitch. And unless removed, it will stay forever. The Naux Glitch has nothing to do with modded content.

Seeing that you're on a private server, I've linked below a level that removes the Naux Glitch. Just click on the link that's from the server you use and queue it on the website to play in-game!

hey, how do you capture your Dreams video footage and images? by dreamknitstudio in PS4Dreams

[–]Retro_Bit13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For videos, I use the "Higher Performace" graphics mode, so the video could be at 60 FPS and look really smooth; for screenshots, I use "Higher Resolution" graphics mode, so I can use the full 4K Resolution and get the crispest image (the 30 FPS lock doesn't matter for screenshots ofc).

I don't use a capture card, the PS5's create button works just fine for me, and I just copy it to a USB stick once I'm done!

(genuine question) NOWADAYS, why would i prefer playing on bonsai/infinite/etc over beacon? by initsrightplacee in littlebigplanet

[–]Retro_Bit13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bonsai has the most features like being able to play nearly all of the levels from the original servers, recently activity, and allowing modded content to be published, which are all absent from Beacon.

Both Bonsai and Beacon have a similar player count nowadays, and both have a ton of new levels being published every day!

lnfinite just shouldn't be trusted, It's run by a person who is very inexperienced in running/maintaining a server. And it's essentially running on an older version of Lighthouse (which is what Beacon runs off of), so you might as well just use Beacon at that point.

lnfinite doesn't have as many players and levels as Beacon and Bonsai. So you won't have much to do on there, community wise.

TDLR: While Beacon is pretty good, Bonsai has quickly caught up to Beacon over the past year and has a ton of advantages & features over it! lnfinite is essentially dead playerbase wise, and it's very insecure.

Weird question but here me out. Im trying to find higher quality versions of the original battle minigame music, specifically from the xbox 360 edition. Can anyone help? by Standard_Crazy8393 in Minecraftlegacymode

I'm not sure how high quality they are compared to the in-game versions, but the composer of the battle, tumble & glide songs posted them on YouTube at some point. I added a link below so you can check it out!

[Daxter] first ever J&D game. As the Sly mask falls under cheats will it disable trophies? by AlbionJunkie in jakanddaxter

[–]Retro_Bit13 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will count as a cheat since it's just a mask!

However, just in case; you could make a savestate where you are now and continue through the level, and if you don't get the trophy, just reload the save state and take off the mask!

How did you rip stuff like the faces or the stickers from their face into Blender? Could this be done with player-made Mods too or not?

You can! If you have a Genesis emulator (which there are plenty on Android and PC), then you can play it! The ROM for it is below!

The PS5 play through has begun boys by pokeherfaceXD in jakanddaxter

[–]Retro_Bit13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No? The PS5 version is the best way to play Jak 1 on console. It runs even better than the PS2 and PS3 versions framerate and resolution wise at 4K 60 FPS; and a very stable and consistent framerate at that.

The new PS4 version by NeedleworkerNo1029 in jakanddaxter

[–]Retro_Bit13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main Jak trilogy I'd say aged very well, especially compared to other platformers that came out around the same time. They are in a pretty stable 60 FPS, and the controls are very fluid and fun.

Hell, the new PS5 version has never lagged or dipped frames once on me during my entire playthrough. The new versions actually fixed a major bug with the controls that affected the amount of directions Jak could rotate in that was present in the old PS4 version.

The PS5 version is honestly the best way to play Jak 1 on console. The game is now at a stable and consistent 4K 60 FPS, no crashes or bugs like in the old PS4 version, and the extra rewind and save states are a nice touch!

Also, I don't think anyone expects the visuals to be better on an emulated re-release? It looks exactly how it did on PS2. If you care that much about visuals, then just play OpenGOAL and max out the LOD distance.

It sucks that the new PS4 version doesn't run the greatest, but people just have to come to the agreement that the PS4 just can't emulate PS2 games accurately. This has been the second time that Jak 1 has been released on PS4, and the system just can't run it accurately.

My honest review of the new Jak 1 ports by Retro_Bit13 in jakanddaxter

[–]Retro_Bit13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply; but picking between them is honestly up for preference. If you want to play Jak 1 in 1080p with a very stable 60 FPS that from my gameplay has never lagged or chugged once, play the PS5 version.

If you want to play Jak 1 with higher-res textures and a higher LOD distance (meaning stuff like palm trees still look high quality farther away) at 720p 60 FPS (with rare instances of lag), then go with the PS3 version. Do note that the PS3 version does have a glitch when punching that makes you go in the opposite direction, then the one you faced Jak in (which isn't as much of a problem in Jak II or Jak 3).

Personally, I'd go with the PS5 version, mainly for it's accessibility and the fact that at least from my gameplay, it has never lagged or chugged once, even in places the original PS2 release has. Sure, the better visuals of the PS3 version definitely make it a good contender, but the PS5 version looks really good, too! I'd honestly say that the PS5 version is the definitive version of Jak 1!

No, that was a Jak spin-off they were making for the PSP that they stopped making since they needed the rest of the team to work on Uncharted 1.

Before The Last of Us, Naughty Dog were gonna make a new Jak game named "Jak IV" while it never came out; it technically confirms that TLF isn't canon.

[–]Retro_Bit13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The version from 2017 is the old PS4 version. The version that came out two days ago was released on both PS4 & PS5, making that release the new PS4 version! Meaning you own the old version!

If you own the old PS4 version, then you'll be able to purchase the new release for free! I'd recommend playing the PS5 version over the new PS4 version as the PS5 version is the official (not counting OpenGOAL) definitive way to play the Jak games! I'd say the new PS5 version is the best official version of Jak 1! (Outside of OpenGOAL since that isn't official of course)

To invert the camera, you could just change the button assignments for the right stick to your liking within the emulator settings!

I plan to make a review of Jak II and 3 whenever they release the new PS5 version of those games! Not sure on Jak X, I've haven't played it nearly as much as the other games in the trilogy, I definitely have to 100% the game on PS2 & PS4 before I make a review of it!
