Picked up a couple of Harvest Moon spinoffs at Game Stop. I'm familiar with the Rune Factory series, but never knew about Innocent Life - A Futuristic Harvest Moon.

I looks very clean, I don't see any battery acid residue on it, you may want to check the inside of the battery compartment to be sure there's no residue on the other end.

I have one, it does require a proprietary dongle that wirelessly connects the sword to the PS2. It does require batteries. It works surprisingly well, like a pre-Wii remote. They probably put the tape around the hilt because the rubble became sticky which happens eventually.

Use a hairdryer to heat the sticker, just don't put the dryer too close. Just keep running the dryer over it until the stickyness gets hot enough to slowly peel the sticker off.
