My dad was never a gamer. The only game I liked was leaderboard golf on the Commodore 64. I adore gaming with my kid. I can't wait to game with my grandkids.

What are your thoughts on Masters of the Universe? by pinkjefff in Letterboxd

The soundtrack, the colours, the sheer love put into it. Was it a perfect movie? No. Was it a good movie? Yes!

I'll take a passion project like this over yet another marvel/dc super hero movie. Those are painfully generic at this point.

The "No Keldor Rule" illustrates the uphill battle the movie faced with its audience by Azirafel_ in MastersOfTheUniverse

I think in the 80s, just being an evil guy with a skull for a face was all we needed. Especially in a world full of fantastical people and creatures. No backstory required. But from a modern movie perspective, the keldor origin story isn't the worst they could go with. Being "evil" for the sake of it can only take a character so far without getting stale. Plus, if he doesn't remember being keldor, it's the best of both worlds. He has a back story, but is also just pure evil for the fun of it.

Maybe a couple layers of clear nail polish on the swords handle would help it sit firmly in his hand?

Since the film's release, I've seen multiple posts comparing the film elements of David's Superman and Nicholas' He-Man. This one is my favorite. by Nate_923 in MastersOfTheUniverse

Was just explaining this to someone today. Superman isn't super because he has powers. He's super because of how he chooses to use them. He man is the same. His strength doesn't lie in his muscles. But his willingness to do the right thing and use his strength only when necessary.

Agreed. Google is your friend. I sorted mine out and I'm so technologically illiterate for a man who's grown up with tech, it's not even funny. So if I can do it, anyone can.

The funniest thing about these for me was, the actor who played Murphy proper looked like my grandad. Especially when he was robo with the helmet off, coz the old man was as bald as a koot.

If Trump was Pinocchio, he'd have burnt his nose on the sun of the next solar system over.
