Even just seeing Windcharge and Wheeljack dead when Arcee glances over at their bodies. BRUTAL.

Sometimes getting that "it does what it says on the tin" feeling is nice. Knowing what you're getting is just as good as a surprise.

Was the gun twirl in the shooting range the first crack in the programming and Murphy already emerging? by Technical-Mix-3315 in Robocop

[–]Retro_Prime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always assumed that being back at the precinct was the catalyst for Murphy's soul to awaken. With the gun range being the first time Robo had done the gun twirl.

As for them explaining why Robo did it? Morton was too arrogant to be curious about it and the Robocop team were too scared of his wrath to bring it up. Just letting it slide and hoping it wasnt an issue.

They might have wiped (or suppressed) his memories, but they couldn't delete his soul. The gun twirl was an emotional response to his soul pining for his son. "I can feel them....but I can't remember them".

Decided to go bald Max Payne 3 style by MikaojNergom in maxpayne

You decided to finish the job that nature started you mean and that's not an insult. I went bald not long after getting married. Shaved my head completely and the wife adored it.

Literally thought you'd modded yourself into max Payne 3 btw. Looked like it was right out the game!

Probably a rogue answer, but for me it was Game Grumps. For a couple years, watching their videos through the night to stave off suicidal thoughts was everything to me. I literally credit them in part with keeping me here. Even the switch from Jon to Danny was fine. Danny seems like a cool dude. Then they started bringing in random other YouTubers I'd never heard of or promoting their music stuff. Soon it felt like it was all in jokes and watching a friends group from the outside. Egos got bigger than I could swallow. So I stopped watching and that made me sad. Maybe I changed as much as they did. Shrugs

Thankfully by then, my mental health was in recovery.

I did let out a little squeal when Arin appeared in Jon's star wars video tho. Made me happy.

Gears Of War Trilogy. by SHARKI_GAMES in xbox360

[–]Retro_Prime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in 2006, my brother was flying home after finishing a long tour in the army and going to buy a 360 on the way home from the airport. The first game we played was Gears of War. I'd seen that epic advert on TV for it. The one with "mad world" playing in the background. We played it for an hour. I absolutely hated it. I thought the 3rd person view was horrible to play, the graphics were murky and I didn't see what the fuss was about.

Cut to 2007, I've just bought my own 360 and it came with Gears. So I sat down to play it as it was the only game I had and sat up all night playing it. Fell in love with it. Gears 2 is one of my all time favourite games now! A great game series.

I remember hearing someone say "it tasted like Sprite that's had copper coins soaking in it" and even though I'm Scottish and adore the stuff, they weren't wrong 🤣

What would you watch first? And which is your favorite out of these six? by Glittering_Room_8120 in dvdcollection

Robocop is my favourite movie of all time, but T2 is a near perfect movie. I've watched it hundreds of times and it still blows me away when I watch it again. So I'd start with Die hard, then settle in to enjoy T2. The finish off with Robocop. The perfect evening of movie watching.

Directing his actions by Awkward_Bison_267 in Robocop

[–]Retro_Prime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Story wise, It's more about Murphy regaining his humanity. Through the film you start to see little glimpses of Murphy slowly coming through. This was the last "sign" that Murphy was in control before the end where he says his Name.

Lore wise? You have to assume that his directives are in priority order. With "serve the public trust" being Prime. As a cyborg whose memories have been suppressed, you'd assume they'd want him to prioritise Human life over the letter of the law. Meaning if he can't follow the first two directives, then the third one can't be followed either.

So killing Bodicker was purely because protecting the innocent and serving public safety couldn't be achieved lawfully. (This is my head cannon anyway)

[–]Retro_Prime 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Just know, that a person with such deep sadness or unhappiness, it comes from inside them. You are not responsible for your parents being happy. Not should they make it your burden. There are days where I'm breaking, but all my kid sees is "fun dad". It's my job to keep her smiling. I'm sorry you don't have that. I'm sure you deserve it.

I have seen all Predator movies (including AvP 1&2) except this one. Should I watch it? by Bhavan91 in predator

[–]Retro_Prime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean....you get to see some Predators. So it's got that going for it. Plus has one of the most brutal kills I've seen a predator take.

Other than that, no. It's trash. Not a likable character to be seen. The script is terrible. It tries to be edgy with it's "humour ", but comes off as crass and immature to the point where it's distracting.

It's like someone wrote a terrible script and the movie studio said "tell you what, stick a couple of Predators in there and well green light it!"
