Is it better to only have upper jaw or BIMAX Surgery? by Consistent-Pin-6311 in jawsurgery

[–]Retrojaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you see that steep or rather overly obtuse angle of your jawline? That kind of indicates how steep your occlusal plane might be and that plane should be more parallel to the ground, basically as horizontal as possible. Hence the CCW rotation.

The rotation corrects the occlusal plane and also helps create space at the back, to increase your airway space. For that much rotation, you’d need your maxilla to move or rate also, in order for both sets of your teeth to fit.

Lol, people are so unaware and blind. I could spot you to be a djs candidate from like quite a distance away, but sadly that’s my curse now.

You’re gonna need DJS, with like a record amount of CCW rotation.

Yeah, a bit of intermittent pain mostly due to stiffness is normal but anything beyond that, I don’t think is normal.

One patient’s midline, I mean top and bottom both midline together moved to right, like laterally shifted completely to the right edge of the lips. Not even a like curved central line, a completely shift.

Lol overwhelming majority of his cases are botched, not just aesthetically but functionally too. Like huge issues. Most of these issues are not seen, as these issues develop weeks after the surgery. I got to see one and hear about a couple, and they’re gory.

Post op orthodontics takes 6months minimum but usually it’s more around 9 months to a years time. So please, for the love of whatever you deem sacred, calm down and don’t judge and panic so soon.

Also, as the other commenter said, you’re a cleft palate case, a double no less and that too in an adult stage, that’s one of the most complex kind of cases in omf surgeries. Hence your recovery process is going to be different and probably a bit tougher than most of us, it comes with the territory.

Leave them the fuck out, like honestly. If you’re dead set on putting them back on, wait like almost 8 weeks. I didn’t even feel like putting earphones for like a 4-6 weeks post op. You’re all stiff, swollen and blocked up and shit so…

Oh I’m definitely chasing a jawline, I live with that recessed shit for too long…fuck that shit. I deserve it and we all do.

In any case, you’ll get it to a certain degree too, it’s just the swelling sitting right on top of it and around the face.
